    Re: Tornado Outbreak Discussion

Glad to hear that you made it through with little damage Chase!! And yes, I still have some family in Hackleburg. The tornado missed my parents house by just a little over a mile. By Aunt and Uncle weren't so fortunate. They lived close to the school and there house is a total loss. However, at least they're safe and can start over. My second cousin, two different sets of my classmate's parents and one of my Mom's good friends aren't going to get that chance. Those are just the people that I know didn't make it. As a complete list of all the names of those confirmed dead or still missing has yet to be released. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts guys.

So far my wife has had 5 friends confirmed dead. She's real torn up about it. Smithville is gonna be a ghost town.

I haven't been able to get contact with my baby sister since early yesterday evening. I know she's ok from when I talked to her, but literally...everything around her house is gone. Literally gone. She's got no power, no cell phone service, nothing. Really want to get in contact with her.

I have friends from Pleasant Grove who have lost everything. Houses completely obliterated.

I have 3 friends who had their cars smashed and their homes severely damaged in Cahaba Heights off of Hwy 280.

The city of Cullman is in ruins. An entire hospital vanished.

Fultondale/Gardendale on the north side of Birmingham is severely damaged. My uncle's house was hit hard.

I was headed to Mullet Toss this weekend, but its looking like I'll be spending my weekend in Tuscaloosa trying to help my sister and her roommates get out of town.
My Dad in law's oldest employee lived in Hueytown...house imploded, killing his wife and puncturing both his lungs, nearly breaking his back. Their daughter survived. My dad in law's work truck is yet to be found.

Below is a vid of the TTown Tornado that slammed Pleasant Grove, Pratt City, Hueytown, B'Ham and the Fultondale/Gardendale (my area). The guy that took it was dumb as all get out. I have been through an EF1 and EF2. You watch those from a safe distance, I did. EF5's you get in a hole somewhere and pray.

This is the apartment complex where I live. The building you see the side of in the beginning is where I stay. This tornado lifted off sometime after the above cities and touched back down in F'Dale, right behind my apartment complex. Had it been on the ground the entire time I wouldn't be typing this. Me, my wife and 7 month old daughter would have been killed. Period. We were huddled into the bathtub hoping it would pass by us.

I feel both grateful and sorrowful. I'm grateful to be alive, but i feel sorrow for all the lives that were lost. This tornado had so much power bodies that were later identified as missing persons from Mississippi, confirmed to me by a friend and a doctor at UAB Hospital, fell out of the sky in Birmingham.

Found on our property were phone bills from TTown, Interstate signs from five miles down I-65 (Finley Ave/33rd st.) and projectile/debris from across town embedded in the side of one building.

All I lost was some food which I quickly replaced. God blessed me with another day(s). I am going to use them wisely.

On an not serious note, I moved here when I met my gorgeous wife. Since then I have been ran out of Destin a day early during my honeymoon by a Hurricane, endured an EF5 tornado and gotten bronchitis twice because of snow falls. All in the space of 4 years. Screw this, I am moving back to Arkansas, lol. Kidding of course. I love it here and even after all that I don't wanna move. On top of meeting my wife and us have ing a daughter born here I have seen the Tide and Tigers win the BCS back to back years. Where else in the world does all that happen?

Here is the vid. Fultondale is a wreck, but we have power. TTown, Cordova, Jasper, Pratt City, Hueytown, Cullman, Hacklesburg and Pleasant Grove, as well as many other cities, desperately need donations and volunteers and prayers.

Hey, AA, Chase, all you other fellow Alabamians, good to see you are ok. I fear for what names I will see on the list when I finally get the guts to read it. I have made a lot of friends in the great state since I have been here.

I went to Bham both Friday and Saturday night and went through Pratt City. You could still smell natural gas, from where gas lines had broke. Everything was a mess too.. Glad to hear you're okay, though.

You too man...Fox 6 was there this morning and Jeh Jeh Pruitt was saying something about a smell as well. It's a miracle the gas lines haven't went up in flames.

This is a picture of the Elementary school hall way. This is where we would go if we had tornado warning/drills and put our books over our heads.

This is an amazing stat to show the sheer power of these tornado's.

NWS: Smithville MS EF5 tornado last Wednesday tossed a Ford Explorer 1/2 mile into the air bouncing it off a water tower!

They set up a "Team Depot" for work and I was the first to sign up.

I dunno. I'd rather have the media stay out of the way and let people pick up and put their towns back together.
