While we have lost people in the middle east as a result, it is a pittance compared to our losses in the Pacific.
I can understand that these are both major tragedies, but I personally think it's slightly hyperbolic to consider 9/11 the largest tragedy. Only my personal opinion, though, not trying to dwarf the impact of it.Comment

This is amazing. People are out in the streets of major cities and it's almost 2:00 on a Monday morning. The news stations right now are playing like the end of Jedi. I have really no idea what to compare this to for my generation as I've never seen anything quite like this but the ending to Return of The Jedi is what keeps coming to mind.
