Re: Bin Laden is dead!
I'm going to Atlanta and then down to South Carolina for Memorial day weekend with my girlfriend. No chance I cancel, just gonna suck it up. The feeling will probably be gone by then anyway. I had a flight home one time when something happened (don't recall what exactly it was) and that's when they made the whole 'no liquid' rules at the airport. The flight was the next day

I guess I just feel as though this may spark a retaliation or something. Just have a bad feeling

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
I understand. I was talking to my sister earlier. She lives in Mesa AZ, and is flying back here in a couple weeks. She is worried too. But Im sure everyone will be ok.Comment

If anyone is at any increased risk it would most likely be Americans traveling abroad, particularly in higher risk countries (though, in general, there is a higher risk there anyway). People on U.S. land or in U.S. airspace should be relatively safe (as safe as any other time, at least).Comment

It's certainly understandable to be concerned, but to be honest, most terrorist threats revolve around an element of surprise or disruption...immediate retaliation normally isn't their MO. They kind of go into things a lot colder than us...they expect such losses.

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
The military in me came out.....and in case someone didn't know what IAW meant......
For those who fear flying, I wouldn't. Heck, I flew from Vegas to Cleveland the first day they reopened flight travel a few days after 9/11.
Americans have this "you're not gonna pull this BS on us again!" attitude....think about how many attacks were thwarted thanks to us citizens acting. Someone acts suspicious on a plane nowadays, they're likely to be tackled and held til landing, unlike before when some would just ignore the person.Last edited by Segagendude; 05-02-2011, 04:27 AM.Comment
