Seriously, what beleive every single thing the media tells you?

I've seen no proof. We've just been fed a story and all of a sudden, it's the truth?

Are we really going to buy the lie that he was buried at sea, immediately within 24 hours? Seriously, no one took a snapshot? Just a quick snapshot? To be given to the president as proof? Not even to you and me, but to be given to the president, the commander in chief as proof?

Ice Cube has a great saying for not letting the media dupe us time and time again, when he said to "Chiggidy check yoself before you wreck yoself"
According to reports this morning Obama was able to see in real time the attack. Osama was shot in the head , once his dead body and his family was removed from the house it was bombed.

I agree with you about the burial I don't believe it for a minute

According the TV what was bombed was the chopper that crashed. The rest of the bodies were left there.
Sure better details will come out in the coming days.

If the kill shot was to the head like it's being said, the pic could be gruesome and might need to be cleaned up a bit before being released.

I'm going to share my thoughts on this event, and then I'm going to leave it at that.

Osama bin Laden was evil. I don't think anyone disagrees with that. Justice was coming to him, and the bell tolled yesterday. I applaud our troops for performing this mission without question, and succeeding.

I don't think this is a moment in which we should celebrate outwardly. In essence, we are celebrating a man's death. There are certainly similarities between us and those in other nations who celebrated 9/11. I believe last night and today should be reserved for quiet introspection on what we've become as people. Have we become more compassionate because of the last 10 years? Have we been better people to those around us?

As an aside, the celebration that we have been a part of could galvanize extremists against us. I can only imagine the anger that extremists feel watching Americans dance and celebrate the death of someone that integral to their struggle.

Like I said, this is the last post I will post on this topic.

I feel the same way. I honestly felt a little strange watching people party on the street. I am happy that justice was served just as much as the next man, but at the same time that isn't going to bring a single person back who lost their life.

I will be flying out of the country later this month, so after this I am not so crazy about doing that anymore.

Cause there will be retaliation. It's not like Al Queda is going to fall and terrorism will now cease to exist. Bin Laden was smart. He knew he was lucky to make it 10 years. So now it's just a new pissed off leader and I expect wide spread attacks throughout the world now.

I agree but, in America you know is well as I do that people like to find a reason to party. I'm not saying that this wasn't cause for celebration because I'm glad the man is gone. However, today I certainly feel "less safe" than I did yesterday. Not that we're really any more or less safe but, I feel like his successor will want to retaliate in some way. And I'm sure that seeing people dancing in the streets will only make them want to put a plan into action sooner rather than later.

This is my first and last post in this thread. It took reading to the end to see if someone was thinking what I was thinking. Spot on man, I agree with every single word, every single word. I've been feeling the same way. Not only do I feel uneasy about people actually celebrating, I feel even more uneasy when some people who aren't are being questioned and called out for it.

Yeah not sure why people are partying. This isnt a time to get drunk like you won a trophy. This was a necessary death to better the world.

I can understand a support small celebration and self reflection and rememberance for those who were hurt. But outright partying isn't called for in my opinion.

This is a major victory on a larger scale war on terrorism. People are absolutely right in the celebration of our achievement. This isn't a win for Obama, or a win for Bush, this is a win for America and for the war on terrorism. We celebrated in Times Square when WWII ended, and we will celebrate for generations to come when a major victory is had by this nation in any scale of war.

This is a huge day in American history.

I'm glad we finally got him. I don't feel the need to celebrate, like we won anything. I'm worried that someone takes his place, if they haven't already.

All I did was post "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" to my facebook wall. I was out having some beers with a friend last night, and so many people were all "Did you hear?" with ear- to-ear smiles.

This was a necessary measure. Someone's life has ended prematurely, and that is always sad to me- even when it isn't to others. Bin Laden is dead, and I wonder what would have happened if he had bankrolled schools and food programs.

I celebrate that the world is safer until the next guy picks up the torch. (Probably already happened). I decry the waste of the resources, and squandering of potential good that Bin Laden could have accomplished. I decry that violence was the only way to resolve this.

Someone will always take his place, or any leaders place. Just the way it goes. The war on terror I'm afraid is a war that will last forever. It's just too hard to win when you try to minimize collateral damage.

But Bin Laden was so influential that this is a bigger victory than any other so far.
