I don't mean to come off as a dick, but can't you think beyond what's going to happen the next hour or next day? Peel the onion back a bit. Think about the 1.5 billion non-extremist Muslims that could potentially be offended if we desecrated his body.

There's more to this than just going in, killing him, and showing his body off to the public like they did in the old west.

FF - You can believe it or not, but it happened.

Burying him at sea was a delicate decision that has multitiple facets. Islamic Law states the dead should be cleansed and buried as soon as possible and before sunset of that day. Why would we immediately post pictures of his body and risk alienating a sector of society we cannot afford to offend simply to appease the average skeptical American citizen?

Without getting to political, the relations between the US and Middle Eastern Muslim Nations is already tenuous at best. The last thing they need to do is piss them off even more, so burying him in accordance with Islamic tradition was the correct thing to do.

You do realize if Bin Laden wasn't dead that he could just make a video tape to reveal he was still alive and everyone would basically riot against Obama. Do you really think they would even bother running that risk?

I will rephrase what I mean, I believe he is dead, I just can't believe he was killed yesterday. He hasn't;t made a tape in forever now that our country has been going through so much turmoil and Obama has been losing his luster, now he's a hero and wants to take credit for it. The CIA, FBI and The military had this in the Bag Mr. President not you my freind. Now Bin-Laden is dead, they could have killed him 3 years ago and just waited for the right time to release it, and that would be now. Just think about it, ponder it a bit before and knocks me.
