Republican congressman Peter King from New York announced on the O'Reilly Factor that they used waterboarding to get the info on the courier.

I believe there is a difference between feeling sorry for bin Laden and debating whether outward celebration of the disabling and killing of him. Like I said earlier, I believe that these moments are better suited towards introspective reflection to look at the people we were before the tragedy on September 11th, and the people we are today.

I know students at my alma mater used this as an opportunity to drink and yell in the streets. I disagree with their celebration but I am not telling them they they cannot do that. I'm not trying to insinuate that people don't know why we're celebrating or that they're being bad Americans. I question what the future holds for all of us.

                  Re: Bin Laden is dead!

It does seem kind of odd and wrong to celebrate a death. But I also recognize that this person (he certainly wasn't a man) did so much harm, so much evil, he's basically given up his rights as a human. You don't want to sink to his level of celebrating someone else's suffering, but his being gone is a good thing for the world.

I didn't celebrate when I heard the news, I just thought, "Good, one less evil in the world," a bit of pride in my country & those who defend it, and went on about my day. The work to defend our rights as Americans continues on now and forever.

Too many other major events happen between April 19th and May 1st for it to be a "coincidence"

I tweeted this last night as it was happening: "I know he killed a lot of people, but celebrating in the streets feels like something THEY would do after mass-killing Americans." and that's pretty much how I feel. I'm not condemning those that felt like gathering in the streets and celebrating with each other. They have their freedom to do that, it's part of the reason America's so awesome. I just felt like there's a thin line between celebration and hypocrisy. For years and years we've decried and denounced terrorist sympathizers for celebrating in the streets because they managed to kill a bunch of Americans.

Here's where I think our celebrations last night and their celebrations separate, though, now that the dust has settled and I've had some time to think about it (That tweet was almost immediate and in the moment). Last night was about unbridled joy and happiness. It was about closure. It wasn't about "we hate these people and look what we did to them", like it is when these celebrations happen over there, if that makes sense. Like I said, it's a thin line between last night's celebrations and the celebrations that happen over there when they kill Americans, but there is a line, and I think that's important.

I didn't do any celebrating last night, really. I was pretty introspective for awhile, then I cracked jokes on Twitter. That was my night, because that's the way I felt like reacting to this. If other people felt the need to organize in crowds and just be with each other, that's their prerogative.

I'm sorry, I'm sick of hearing about stooping to their level by celebrating this measure of justice.

This son of a bitch CAUSED this to happen. I'm not going to play some sort of moral game just to avoid "looking like them". We didn't kill thousands in terrorist attacks over the last 20 years. We didn't hide for years like cowardly pieces of inhuman trash. We didn't do ANY of that.

I'd say celebrating the way we have been is almost too LIGHT.

                              .....but that's just me.
