I am Australian, but I have to commend you guys on the classy way Obama and his men handled everything.

Giving Bin Laden a proper Islamic burial just goes to show that you are better than him. It shows the Muslim world that you treat people with a level of dignity that he never gave others.

For those saying "it was rushed" etc, a Muslim has to be buried within 24 hours of death according to tradition. If you'd kept the body as a 'trophy' and paraded it to the world, you'd only have inflamed hate.

Doing it this way shows respect.

I said NOTHING about terrorists celebrating slaughtering murdering innocent men and women. I have no idea where you got that from. But I have seen Iraqi citizens celebrate the killing of soldiers first hand and it rubbed me the wrong way....this isn't even close to the same anger, but it still rubs me in somewhat of a similar way. And these are not terrorist...I'm talking about a farmer or some guy who runs a meatstand whose family was killed mistakenly when someone called for fire on the wrong house.

It's not THAT big of a deal in the grand scheme of things....I just thought that the celebrating aspect of this story doesn't show us in a great light.

I agree. I think you make good points.

I just kind of piggy-backed off of your post, it wasn't a direct response, so to speak. I know there have been others that have compared us celebrating to terrorists celebrating, but yours was the most recent about the topic so I just kinda quoted you. Didn't mean to seem like I was putting words in your mouth, which I did, so sorry about that.

And see, I thought the celebrating was one of the best things that happened last night. We haven't seen our country this united in a long, long time. It was awesome to see that, once again, people can put aside their differences and pay homage, together, to one of the most important things to happen during this "War on Terror."

Honestly....I don't care what kind of light it shows us in. They hate us already. Those who do not hate us, understand our pain and our jubilation.

How many innocent people has Osama & Al-Qaeda killed since 9/11?? How many innocent people has the US armed forces killed since?? How much money have we spent trying to kill this 1 man??

I personally don't see a reason to celebrate. History = His-story. We all know there is two sides to every story

I didn't celebrate, but I was certainly glad to hear the news.. even if it's news of someone's death. Celebration is certainly understandable

                /personal opinion.

I'm just glad that justice has been served to someone that has had it coming for a long time.

And whose to say how many attacks Osama and Al-Qaeda had planned that haven't gone through since 9/11 because they were prevented? There's two sides to every story right?

As someone said earlier...so should a rapist/serial killer not get punished 10 years later?

Are you talking about American people? Because I have a friend from the middle east and the things the AQ have done there are just wicked. I am glad this guy is Dead!

Irrelevant. of course you do the crime you do the time.

@Matrix I apologize I was expressing my perspective. Of why I choose not to celebrate or even feel any type of way w/ Bin Laden being dead.

On a different note, we can finally end the embarrassing pretense that Pakistan is our ally.

                              And how is that irrelevant?

Osama has been behind thousands, and thousands of deaths, not just in America but around the world. Does he not deserved to be punished for those crimes as much as a serial rapist or killer deserves to, even ten years after the most publicized event?

Obama's words were perfect: Justice has been done.

How do you guys feel about combat photos being released for the sake of quelling those who think its a fake because of the mass confusion of info being put out (ie bomb run, then ground raid, etc) and that they (US military) feel forced to do it because high leaders of the enemy refuse to acknowledge the result of said event.
