Re: Bin Laden is dead!
Geoffrey Robertson is one of the smartest minds of the past 50 years...you may learn a lot by reading about him.
A martry needs to die in battle...a court trial, jail etc is humiliation. It's a cowards way. Not brave enough to die in battle. Humiliated daily by the western press and courts. Robertson is 100000% right, it's the absolute last thing Bin Laden would have wanted."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

The three that are out now are all fake and have been confirmed as such. I saw them already posted and busted early this morning on another site.
They even showed where the pics originally came from and how they were chopped.Comment

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
For those comparing the images of the people celebrating in the ME after 9/11, you are simply stupid for trying. America doesn't kill innocent people. We spend BILLIONS of dollars to create precision guided weapons to prevent such collateral damage. We put our own soldier's lives at risks with preposterous rules of engagement because we value human life.Comment

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
Just a quick perspective on the "celebrating."
I was in high school when 9/11 happened. 10 years can make us forget the feelings and give us time to repress the shock and anger we felt. Think of it in terms of the symbolism: The greatest monument to American financial power was brought down in a cloud of dust and blood. We saw bankers on the top floors jump to their death rather than be engulfed by the inferno behind them. We heard panicked and heartwrenching phone calls of people in those buildings scream "I DON'T WANT TO DIE. I'M NOT READY TO DIE."
We saw the symbol of American military might plowed into, killing hundreds of civilian and servicemen/women. We heard the horrible and heroic story and phone calls of Flight 93 as they accepted their fate and sacrificed their own lives to save others. We saw a symbol of American business and leisure, the airplane, turn into a missle. We visualized what the last moments must have been like for the passengers who were on the flights that hit the towers.
Fast forward 10 years later.
We've seen Osama Bin Laden repeatedly taunt us from afar, gloating of his superiority and invinceability. For many Americans, this bastard being loose was a sign of our collective weakness. We ask ourselves, in this economy, with these wars, are America's best days behind us? We can't capture the guy that killed thousands of Americans?!
Then we finally get the vindication we've been looking for. We finally kill the bastard that took innocent lives in the name of some deranged mentality. And finally, we show the rest of the world that, yes, The United States of America is still the good guy, we are the baddest-assed mofos on the planet, and if you kill our people, we will kill you. You can count on it.
So pardon them for getting emotional and wanting to release those feelings.

They don't. They strap bombs to themselves and kill civilians shopping at the market. They behead journalists to make a point. They drag corpses of Americans through the streets, pissing on the body.
They are effing scum, and the world is a lot better off without that jerkhole running around flaunting it in our face.
Excellent post. Absolutely excellent.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
Another example of the divisiveness in this country. You'd never get the mix of reaction after Hitler's death. It's time we started thinking of ourselves as Americans. Period.
The decade long man-hunt to find Osama bin Laden is over, and Oaklanders have a thing or two to say about it. We took an iPhone out to the Temescal District to hear the local reaction.

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
I don't give a **** what he would have wanted, or what would have "humiliated him the most". Nothing's more humiliating than him thinking he could hide from us forever, then having his bull**** safe haven raided in minutes and getting drilled in the head twice by the best men we have to offer. I don't give a DAMN what he wanted. I want what I want, and I wanted him dead.
Why give him a trial? Why let him be part of the justice cycle of the very country that he and his sons of bitches want to destroy? Why give him the satisfaction of enjoying the rights we have as American people? ****. That.Comment

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
Re your other point:
Setting receord straight
Mr Carney, relying on a written narrative from the Department of Defence to set the record straight, said that:
- Bin Laden wasn't armed when he was shot.
- A wife of his was shot in the leg, not killed as originally reported.
- Bin Laden did not use her as a shield before he was shot. She rushed at a US attacker but she wasn't armed.
- Two helicopters were used in the raid.
- The raid lasted 40 minutes.
- In addition to bin Laden and some of his family members, two other families were at the compound in Abbottabad, about 50 kilometres from the capital, Islamabad. One family was in a separate structure. Another was on the first floor of the main building.
- On the first floor, two al-Qaeda couriers were killed, as well as a woman who wasn't bin Laden's wife and who was apparently caught in the crossfire.
- Bin Laden and his family were on the second and third floors. His wife was in the room with him. She was shot first, then he was shot and killed.

Re: Bin Laden is dead!
There is no emotion in this man. He does not feel compassion, regret, sincerity, humiliation, embarrassment, etc. He only feels hate. This mass murderer has had his hands in the worst attack on US soil along with countless other bombings, shootings, etc. of innocent people.
I don't give a **** what he wants or feels. If he feels compelled to believe he died a martyr than so be it, I don't care. If he's happy the way that he died, I don't give a ****. All's I know is that right now he feels a massive headache over his left eye and that's good enough for me.
The world is better off exterminating him than letting him have a public platform or the rights that so many Americans have died protecting from pieces of **** like him. One second, one bullet, and potentially thousands of lives saved in the process.Comment
