Re: Need help on not being offensive to someone who has the hots for you...
Go with something like
"Ha ha thanks.
Let me just be direct with you though, because I know how much it sucks to like someone and wonder where you stand with them.
I am ok with being friends guy to guy and while I respect your sexual orientation, I myself do not share the same preference, so would prefer if we could just stay friends.
I know you probably didn't mean to hit on my, but it doesn't really make me comfortable, so I just wanted to make it clear that I would prefer if you didn't tell me how awesome my glorious body is :P"
Ok, here's why you take this route
1) Your girl friends WILL hear about this, so you want to
A) Put him down easy
B) Not sound like a jerk
C) Make yourself seem somewhat classy and progressive.
And I don't really have a 2 or 3, so I'll end this with a period.Comment

We could respond live while you're at the bar. This could be like a sports site gamecast update.
1. Enigma confronts gay friend.
2. Enigma explains that the situation is making him uncomfortable and he's flattered but doesn't go that way.
3. Gay friend laughs and says he's hot and steals hugs.
4. Gay friend wins.
5. Enigma loses and continues to suffer.
Stay tuned.Last edited by SidVish; 10-07-2011, 07:25 PM."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: Need help on not being offensive to someone who has the hots for you...
I've been in a similar situation where a gay friend of a girl friend was telling me the same things and it made me really uncomfortable. I just took the guy off to the side and told him, while I thought he was a nice guy and cool to hang out with, his comments made me really uncomfortable and if he kept it up I wouldn't be able to hang out with him anymore.
Thankfully that's all it took and he got the point.Comment

Update #1: Arrived at the house. No sign of him (checks closets), nope good. Showed the BF of the girl who laughed at me that I mentioned the texts too. Started cracking up at me. Other dudes don't know. Women have not arrived yet. Gonna drink some Shock Top.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Just do it with him and be really bad at it; that's what scares most of the ladies away from me.

Re: Need help on not being offensive to someone who has the hots for you...
Okay, normally I am a cool cat who can handle any situation... but I need advice on this one...
Ever since I have lost a ton of weight, and bulked up big time, I have been a magnet. Girls have flocked to me, younger and older. Not even bashful about telling me how hot I am (man times have changed).
Well it was fun and all, but now as the circles of friends grow larger with more opportunities, you are going to get various types of people of different beliefs, ethnicity, cultures, and sexual preferences. I do not judge anyone, and try and be kind and understanding to everyone I meet. We are all individuals.
Now here is the situation... this girl I know who is my female best friend as well as another close friend of mine who is a girl have this gay friend. Well I guess I made the mistake of accepting his friend request on Facebook after having met him a few times. Was a nice guy, we all had fun partying out.
But now he is messaging me saying he can not get over how "hot I am"... so how the hell do I, as a straight man, nip this in the bud without being offensive or rude?
Any and all help is appreciated. ::sigh::
tell him thanks for the complement and dont make a big deal of it.. He'll eventually stop.Comment
