My sense of the generations is still the one that formed in my childhood. I think of Boomers as being 40s-50s, Gen X as young adults, Millennials as the youth, and Gen Z as babies. When I see someone born in the 2000s I'm like "...you're not a baby!?" Alas, we're all old now.

Its weird thinking of those generations as what they currently are vs what they used to be.

I can even watch a TV show from any era and see people of a certain age group and feel like I could partly relate to them before being like "wait, that's not my age group anymore".

People in college right now are ones born in the 2000s. We're a year or two away from people born in the 2010s starting high school!

Any of our fave shows from the past, you have to add 20-30 years to everyone on it. Parents in a 90s show are senior citizens nowadays. The kids in those shows are parents now.

But despite that, people still act like millenials didnt grow up in the age of VCRs, floppy discs, dial up internet and all that.

What I always think of is that boomers were the ultimate millennials/GenZ back in the day. They originated the whole thing in the 60s lol. Whatever that thing even is. Now they are the ones seen as disapproving of people doing things differently . But they were the Easy Rider generation. Idk.

Every generation is the same.

"My generation was great. The old generation is out of touch. The new generation sucks. When I was younger, the older generation hated my generation, thinking theirs was the best, and look at what they've done vs what we've accomplished since then. Now these kids today don't know how good they have it."

I feel like tech companies nowadays are like a parody of the old cliches when it comes to names.

Like on a TV show when they have some item, it's like "Look what I got! The new DustVac 2000!"

But when you hear these commercials on TV, any phone or TV seems to have these big random names.

It's like "The Samsung Galaxy C20-G91XL 5G".

At least iPhones are simple. What's the latest phone? iPhone 12. What was the last one? iPhone 11. "Generic/boring" sure, but at least it's simple.

Didn't they go from iPhone 7 to iPhone X, though? And then didn't 11 come after? Did they skip 8 and 9?

Madden was just weird by having Madden 25. What are they going to do in a few years? Heh.

Xbox is just the worst. I'm almost surprised they get the sales they get because I wouldn't even know what the new console is at any time.

I'm probably late on this since I'm 41 and tend to be behind the new hip stuff, but I recently been hearing this phrase that has been driving me nuts.

Basically when something good happens, like winning something, or a good play, or someone pulled good sports cards ripping them on YouTube, the person will yell at the top of their lungs "LET'S GO", then usually repeat it 4-5 times.

I don't know why it bothers me, I'm not anti-fun, or celebrating. I just hate the term and how it's used so much now.

My God that **** is everywhere now. "Level up your breakfast sandwich game with Jimmy Dean's" etc etc. I am imagining corporate/sales seminars trying to sound modern by throwing that term in with all their usual nonsense conglomocorp speak.

I haven't yet heard this one. I'll keep my ears open, or perhaps start this trend at my school to be that guy heh. Sounds like it's more of a marketing ploy than it is talking with your friends, though.

Definitely have heard "LESSSGOOOOOO," though. I'm sure I've even used it to mock my students, heh.

Nothing inherently wrong with it. For me though, it's one of those phrases that someone says, then all of a sudden everyone and their brother is saying it.

I guess I just want these kids off my lawn. lol

Classico makes a pretty good cabernet marinara, but that's as far as I can take it.

I was watching the Challenge reunion and it was an onslaught of "messy" or variations. Like, they all want to be the coolest of the cool by using it the most.


the whole season meant nothing, it was only a Challenge to see who could use it the most in the reunion
