This. I went through one here in central Iowa and they have 80/15 fixed 30's with 5% down and I went with a 80/20 5/5 adjustable with a really nice rate on the first and second.

I'm interested in hearing how you managed to get the insurance to cover 83,000 for your reno lol

I was hit by a mini van and was paralyzed for 6 months, I still have issues with my feet and legs which causes issues with my gait. Because I was hit by a car, my car insurance is covering the cost to make the kitchen accessible for me and the floors had to be leveled, because it was causing me to trip. So they had to put in new subfloors to make all the floors even. They are also, evening out my driveway to help prevent falls.

New walnut floors are in. The painters will start and finish painting the entire house this week...hopefully. Then the kitchen will go in. Everything should be done by the end of the month.

For Christmas I gave my wife a closet makeover. They came out this past week and installed it.

Sadly my wife would need around 4 closets to fit just her shoes in. She is closing in on 200 pairs so I'm thinking a intervention is right around the corner.

This weekend my wife mentioned that she needed a new purse, and I thought that was crazy because we just got done putting like 8 purses in the cabinet. She died laughing. She informed me that I was very lucky in terms of the number of shoes and purses compared to most girls.

This weekend my wife mentioned that she needed a new purse, and I thought that was crazy because we just got done putting like 8 purses in the cabinet. She died laughing. She informed me that I was very lucky in terms of the number of shoes and purses compared to most girls.

To put it in perspective, she filled up both our master bedroom closets with shoes, the hallway closet, and the spare bedroom closet with shoes. On top of that, I still randomly find a pair of her shoes in my closet. This is not even talking about the dozens of others hidden all over the house. She is not bad about purses or jewelry, but shoes and clothes.................I'd like to be able to clearly express the absurdness of it, but nothing I type will represent it correctly. Be grateful if she doesn't have this "problem", because being a gamer gives you one less leg to stand on when ever you want to "talk about, how out of hand it has got".

Ex.

Me - Babe, you have way to many shoes we need to go through them and send some to goodwill.

Her - Wait, how much did you just spend on computer parts......$700?....How much was the PS4......$400?......How many games do you buy......Exactly you have thousands of dollars in toys. My shoes are nothing compare to that.

Me - Its the space not the money.

Her - I have plenty of space, but what we need to do is organize your man cave, have you seen how messy it is??

Me - Hangs head and gives up.

In retrospect, my hobbies cost way more than her shoe fetish lol. Hunting alone costed me over a grand this year, gaming easily in the $1500 mark, then fishing I spent $3,000 on a boat. So I spent alot this year on MY hobbies. I'll turn a blind eye to the shoe purchases

Yeah I know I'm pretty lucky when it comes to shoes and purses, it's just so funny compared to my four pair of shoes (everyday, running, dress, and sandals). Her only collecting vice is candles, we've got a guest room walk-in closet that is half full of them. But between video games, movies, and my AU football tickets, I don't have much ammunition against anything she wants.

You have to give her some vices....My wife's more just aware of our budgets/money, so she doesn't buy stuff we can't afford.

That's the key...she's on some facebook groups where women sell stuff and she'll buy some things (baby carriers and crap) when people need the money and sell them super cheap...Then she sells it a month later and makes 50 bucks lol. She's capitalizing on their financial irresponsibility, so she knows not to put us in that position.
