Re: Off Topic 2012
My mom isn't that great with computers. She's learning, but it's a slow process. She just learned how to attach a file to an email.
I usually just try my best to play dumb and let her learn on her own. I know it's mean, but I learned everything on my own.
I was your average kid that played sports through school and stuff, but I could design a complete website template in photoshop and do the cut/slice and have it organized for anyone to download and use, before I was even in highschool.
Then, I got in to high school and started dating and having a social life and I slowly, but surely, forgot how to do most everything
It's true what they say. If you don't use it, you'll lose it.
My dad, on the other hand, is very tech-savvy.Comment

The guy's as booksmart as they come. Just don't ask him to operate anything involving buttons lol. He did learn how to use the DVR a little over a year ago though. So I'm proud of him for that.Comment

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Off Topic 2012
If my dad is interested in something and we show him how to do it, he will be good until some type of unforseen error or problem happens. We got him an iPod for Christmas and he can manage that pretty well.
My mother, on the other hand, while being more "savvy" is less inclined to pick up on things. She's been wanting us to show her how to scan/import pictures and then uploading them to facebook. Her only real problem is the facebook part and admittedly I sometimes have problems with facebook uploads because they always ****ing change **** around so you have to hunt. Plus, their photo upload onsite isn't intuitive at all.

Re: Off Topic 2012
Amazon just e-mailed to notify me that my delivery of Alabama Shakes' Boys & Girls on vinyl couldn't be delivered because it required a signature and couldn't be left unattended.
WTF, UPS? I have never had to sign for any music/movie/video game purchase and apparently they've had no problems leaving packages unattended before now. The package was supposed to come yesterday, so this is really cool.

At my parent's house they run in the afternoon/early evening, but at my new place they seem to deliver between 11-2.
