I couldn't deal with sitting home all the time, even if the idea sounds good, in my head.

I get tired of work sometimes, but it helps keep me going.

I completely agree. I didn't sign up for summer semester classes, and I regret that decision. I thought a summer break would be cool, but it actually kinda sucks.

        You guys and your ambition...

I dream of a day when I don't have to work and my only worry on this earth every day is what I want for lunch that day.

Yeah, not working gets old surprisingly quick. But working full time sucks. I like when I work like 4 days, with 3 off, including 2 in a row. That's ideal.

On a break right now from work. I should take this more often. It's nice to break up a long day.

I can't do that. It is truly sad but, I just don't have the will power. I used to work splits as Banquet Chef in my younger years and everytime I came back I'd be drunk. Not that I didn't get my work done, nor did I tip myself off to the Chef and be out of hand. It just wouldn't mesh well with my current situation.

You know, the whole being repsonsible thing.

Oh man no! I get those too. Wth! I was just thinking "Does anybody else experience these?" the other day. So weird.

                  Re: Off Topic 2012

My senior year of high school was ideal. Going to school and working part time as a waiter were the only responsibilities I had. At no other point in my life have that many females been under one roof.

Throw in the wild house parties, having the summers off, no bills, no one relying on my income to survive, sleeping in, hanging with friends during and after school, playing video games all day with no regrets, and the list goes on and on.

Don't get me wrong, college was an amazing time too. It's just that in high school, I was able to completely **** around, and get by with ease.

I'm happy with were I stand as an adult. No complaints about my work situation or the freedoms of providing for myself. I also wouldn't trade my daughter in for anything in the world.

Both time periods have their own advantages. Sometimes it's nice to look back at how easy life was, tho.

Fiance and I are getting our own place (a first for both of us). It's in the middle of nowhere because her job is there though.

I'm pretty much all but out (got screwed with paperwork) of the military. I'm jobless and have no marketable skills aside from excellent leadership, basic-to-intermediate knowledge on a lot of subjects, and personable.

Any tips on where I can look to find jobs? I don't even know where to start for doing a resume because military service is just so different than anything out there. Even for basic sales jobs they want a complete resume. I've started one of those linkedIn things, and have been searching for jobs that I know I'd excel in (mind you I don't need to get rich quick... I will have a decent amount of tax-free supplemental income. Plus being a nurse in California my fiance will make more than I do regardless.)

Just looking for any tips from people who are going through/have been through similar situations. Mind you, I hate being unemployed because I feel worthless and unwanted. I'm also not quite sure where I stand on leadership experience. My 2+ years as a USMC Infantry Squad Leader gives me (in all honesty) more leadership experience than people in retail. Not only did we deal with minor issues, but literally ANYTHING that went wrong (be it with the law, personal problems, etc.) fell on us as their leader. We were pseudo-parents, and that should probably count for a whole lot more than working at a store for 3-4 years, and we learned a lot more than dealing with people.

Should I just take what I can get for now, and hope for the best or would you guys vote on pushing the issue a little bit and telling them, "Hey, I'm ready for whatever you throw at me. Give me (even a middle-level) a management position because I, infact, have more experience than needed."

I don't want to overshoot, but I don't wanna sell myself short either.
Go to college.....Seriously companies don't care what you did in the military unless you applying to be a cop or firefighter some where. Any other job they don't give a flying crap.

First thing they going to say is well that was infantry, that don't apply to what we are doing here. Then you going to have the life long civilians who work there throw a hissy fit if a military guy jumps in line in front of them just because he was in the military.

Oh yes I have seen it happen before. So just go to college some where and take it from there.
