My school's top 3 sports were softball, tennis, and cross country lol.

I still remember my first football game in HS, we trailed 62-0 at halftime, I personally contributed 3 lost fumbles

I went to 4 different elementary schools and 2 different high schools, all in different states.

Let's see, I went to 5 different elementary schools and 4 of them all before 3rd grade.(2 in LA, 3 in FL). Then after 3rd grade we stayed in the same area so I went the one middle school then one high school.

I hated middle school because I went to the Elem. School I did by using my grandma's address because she was a teacher there. Well I was going to do the same for middle school to stay with my friends, but my parents didn't feel like driving so I knew no one for awhile. Guess it helped in HS though as I then basically knew everyone.

Our HS football team got really good the year before I entered and was good throughout my 4 years there. I like to think of our generation (grade above, mine, and one below) as the golden age. Won state flight B championship my junior year. I only played freshmen year but we were good. Lost our first game but won the rest convincingly. Our RB was sick and we had a beast LB/T, both play at U of Delaware now (they've been very successful in D2 for some time now).

If my grades were good and I wasn't a lazy bastard, I'm pretty sure I would've started at CB at least my senior year. One of my friends was the starter and quite frankly he's not that good. Not athletic enough to play the corner but wasn't big enough to come inside as a safety/LB. Kinda a bumbling goon... Lol. I got my football fix playing with a core group of friends pretty much every weekend, it got very intense. I blame my bad knees and shoulders on those games, but no one ever got seriously hurt somehow.

I never went back to my high school after graduation, nor kept up with the school. And like most high schools in Chicago, we didn't have our own football field. Instead in Chicago they have a football field in certain areas scattered throughout the city and like 4 or 5 high schools on that side of the city share that stadium. So there never was a home field advantage.

Far as sports, we were pretty good in both football and basketball. Made the state playoffs 3 of the years I was there in both sports.

Our best player while I was there was probably a Kicker we sent to Auburn that says a lot.

My best friend probably could have been good, ran a 4.4 and had great hands but we ran a Wing T offense until senior year and our QB despite going to WF was terrible.

Almost...our district had 4 different elementary schools, but after that everyone went to the same middle/high school that were attached to each other.

You know when I was growing up, people use to use their grandma or aunt address to go to better schools in the suburbs. After a while though the schools systems out there got wise and severely cracked down on it and made it an arrest-able offense for doing that.

And on the flip side, you had suburban kids doing the same thing for they could attend Whitney Young and Lane High School in Chicago. At the time, those were the 2 best high schools in Chicago and really Cook County. It use to be a time you had to take a long test just to get up in those 2 schools and the waiting list was long.

You had to be very smart to get into those schools and you had to maintain a 3.0 GPA to stay in those schools, if not, you were kicked out. But that was during the 80s and early 90s. By the mid 90s things changed, parents sued the school system for being bias and they starting letting anybody that lived in the area attend those schools without even taking a test.

Sure enough when that happened, the quality of those 2 schools went down hill. They turned ghetto. But man back in the day if you had Whitney Young or Lane high school diploma, you could have gotten into any college in the country, including the Ivy league schools because all the colleges knew you had to be very smart to attend those high schools and you had your act together.

From K-3rd grade I went to a school outside of my home district because it had a special class for hearing impaired kids. I ended up going back to mainstream for 4th grade (which probably not coincidentally was the same year my little sister started kindergarten) and went to my districts elementary school for 4th and 5th grade before heading over to the middle/high school for 6-12.

As for my high schools sports teams, they tended to be very competitive and good but not great. Lots of district playoff appearances and some section titles, but no district titles or state playoff appearances that I can remember.

This guy and his wife go out for dinner 7 days a week, year round. That tells me one thing, his wife can't cook and must be the worse cook ever. I'm not talking fast food, talking sit down Italian restaurants where they charge $30 and up a plate.

Also, one of my friends was telling me today every time his girlfriend goes out to get her hair done, it is $200. And she gets her hair done twice a month. I'm thinking unless that chick is getting braids, $200 is a hell of a lot of money for a woman getting her hair done.

I don't think all the blame should be on her. I hate the she has to be the cook mentality.

My girl has hair to her lower back and it easily costs that much for her monthly dye, highlights, and styling.

This is how my senior year of high school football ended:

But hey, at least it was the state playoffs. We were actually part of the current good string of sports teams at my school. Generally they don't really suck ever at football or basketball. They made the semi-finals in football two years ago and the state championship in basketball that same year. Start players from those teams are actually playing at big schools now.
