    Man, you know what's crazy?

You can put anything in a microwave and it will explode or warp.

But... The glass plate in the microwave? Fine.

Even the glass plate you put your food on gets warm, so why not the glass plate underneath your glass plate?

    *PSSSHHHHHHHHH*

    Mind. Blowing.

And it's like, you can have the microwave on for 20 minutes, but the glass plate don't care - It ain't even hot!

So, does anyone else want to avoid Chicago like the plague after reading all of GMSS's horror stories?
Don't be scared......like anywhere else you just have to know the areas of the city to avoid. Don't people still flock to Mexico and Jamaica for vacation ? Little do they know just a few blocks away from their beach resort hotel it is the most ruthless ghetto ever. Unless you live there or took a wrong turn some where, you would never know it.

Chicago is the same way. Tourist flock to downtown Chicago because it is a city within a city. You can't see, smell or hear the ghetto from downtown. You go to the west and south sides, you will see the real Chicago that they don't put in the tourist books. Go up north past Wilson Ave and you will see the ghettos of the north side of Chicago.

Same thing with Chicago suburbs, you go their southern suburbs of Richiton Park, Robbins, Harvey, Dolton......ghetto as hell out there. Go to the western suburbs of Oak Park, Forest Park, Melrose....pretty bad. Maywood and Bellwood........ghetto.

But you go way out there an hour to 90 minutes away from Chicago to Elgin, St Charles, Aurora, Wheaton, Niles, Geneva, Ottawa......you would think you in a totally different state. Night and day difference. Even though as nice as those places are, it is a ton of teens hooked on E and prescription pills out there.

So yeah, like any city, you just have to know where the bad sides of town are. Just like Paris, France. Nice, but you stray too far from the hotel, you will end up in the ghetto area of Paris.

It started last week. Right around when the really Cold weather hit, that's what I'm thinking too. I don't really feel any other major symptoms other then some slight Fatigue, and nasal congestion.. so I might have a Sinus Infection?

Going to try and take some over the counter stuff see if that helps.

Sinus infections usually have a lot of mucus involved so if you're not coughing stuff out, then I doubt it's a sinus infection.

Probably weather related but a week is a bit of a long time.

Today's gonna be a good day at work. About a half day of actual work then this afternoon is our annual Turkey Bowl and some cocktails. Sometimes I just love my job.

Count me in the half-day crowd. I'm out of here at noon as well. There's also no pressing matters to be attended to. And the boss is out of the office. Zero real work is getting done in the next 2.5 hours.

Got another interview today (for a job at Amica's customer service department). First one, for a different job that I didn't get, obviously didn't go well so definitely planning on just being a little less nervous this time. We'll see how it goes.

My recent campaign to spread more positivity into the world is off to a great start. Last night I complemented an old lad at the market on her hat. I really believe it brightened up her night.

Just this morning I thanked the young girl who made my iced coffee on the terrific job she's doing. I like to think those kind words made her feel better about her job, motivated her to push thru the day and crush it with tips.

I told my staff that my boss will be off today, and that I'd be leaving early. I know I just brightened 30 people up. There you go.

Maybe its the area, but most people barely make eye contact anymore much less smile at you. I still do it, but its concerning that I rarely get a response.
