The real question is, why not Korver... though I am a tad biased as he is my favorite NBA player (behind Derrick Rose, of course)... also, He's from Iowa!

I love the way he can hit the three, and also the whole he's from Iowa thing. Which is the same reason I'm a big fan of Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, Harrison Barnes, BJ Armstrong, though out of all those, Korver is my absolute favorite... not Ricky Davis though... ugh...

I've been a Mark DeRosa fan for a long time, but I can't figure out why. When people ask me I just say I like how he plays, but nothing specific.

Neil Walker is one of my favorite players mostly because he's a local product. He actually went to the same high school as several of my cousins though he is several years older than them.

My favorite "odd" MLB player is probably Chuck Carr. I remember reading a story about how he'd go against bunt signals and be swinging for the fences despite the fact that he only had 5 home runs for his career... now, I'm not normally a fan of that kind of selfishness, especially in baseball, but I always found that hilarious. I also really like R.A. Dickey (mostly because he used to be a Twin, and I always enjoyed him as a Twin, nothing to do with his Cy Young award, I promise) and Pat Neshek.

Two random players that I always enjoyed watching play back in the day were Brian Downing and Ron Gant.

Gant was obviously a more known & daily player. Downing, not so much but I enjoyed watching them both play during their careers.
