My challenge to myself for next year is to reduce the amount of those "lazy" weeks.

Consistency is the foundation of success for sure. I know how you feel man, I get those weeks where its hell and I don't want to workout but I still do something anyway even if its light. I'll have days where I'll just cycle for 30 minutes.

The toughest is staying consistent with diet. It's so hard to do here in the US with all this bad food being thrown at you. It's like being a crackhead trying to rehab but every house in the neighborhood is a crack house.

You really have to find that motivation to resist the temptation and stay strong. You just got keep thinking of that goal and keep after it everyday, no days off. I had to decline going out to eat many times from friends and family but they understood why.

If you do cheat, just make sure its just that one meal that entire day and not make the whole day a cheat day.

        Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Alright, well I didn't hit my goal of getting to 210, was 9 pounds off but I will go hard starting January 1st. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread it really helped change my life.

Started off in May with only working out 3 times a week, then I watched a Eric Thomas vid that Feared posted and that fired me up to step up my workouts to 6 times a week lifting, yoga and cardio and to also go on a vegan diet. Now I'm gonna be doing two 5k events this week.

First pic was at around the end of 2011, 2x shirt size and 40 pants size. 2nd pic, still got a gut but I'm 217, large shirt and 34 pants size. Goal for 2013 is 185 or 180 and get a six pack. For those wondering what those spots are on my arms, its the after affects of going through severe psoriasis. Still have some spots but I'm working on that next.

2013 Fitness Challenge will happen day 1. Happy New Year and lets together push hard to get to our goals next year.

My total weight loss the past two years is sitting at ~60lbs with 25 of that coming off in the past year. I don't know if I want to go below 170, but there's some belly giggle I want to lose and tone.

I'm officially in all medium clothes now and have enough energy to power small villages as I've pulled a couple all nighters this week.

Pretty pissed at myself. I'm pretty much in the exact same position now as I was last year. I did successfully put on 10lbs or so at the start of the year, which was my first successful bulk. Lost it when I got sick and just didn't stick with it at all the rest of the year, mostly do to a crappy work schedule that I no longer have to deal with.

I'll be back for the 2013 thread, hoping to put on around 20lbs by next summer.

Was doing really well training for the Tough Mudder until last week. The kids and I both came down with the flu. I've still got a bad lingering cough to the point that there is no way I could work out until it's gone. Really sucks. I was among good progress. Running 5k's every other day, tons of pushups and pullups, etc.

I feel like I'll be starting from scratch, but I'll be right back at it after this is all said and done. Thankfully the kids are better which is all that really matters. I've never believed in a flu shot, but I guess this is what I get .

Let's make 2012 our fittest year ever! Post your situation and your goals so that we can help track and motivate one another to having a healthier and happier life.

My goal is to reduce stress by eating healthier and exercising more.

Being in law enforcement it is not easy dealing with stress. This past year I packed on a few pounds around the midsection. I was skipping meals, eating poorly, not exercising as much and this led to having super high stress virtually ever day. It didn't take long before I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders. Married with two children in college, this 40 year old wants to get back to running 4 miles per day and adding muscle while torching fat. I will be eating small healthy meals every 2-3 hours and I encourage any and all feed back along the way.

Today I will start P90x and run / jog/ walk 4 miles this evening. Tomorrow morning I will begin my day by running at 70% of my maximum heart rate for 25 minutes on a treadmill before going into work. I will prep the next two days worth of food so that I have it handy.

Thanks and have a Happy New Year to each of you and your families!!!
I beat my goals, dropped over 40 pounds and now am building muscle. I did lose some muscle mass during a stretch of stress and not eating. I have some new goals for 2013. I guess if it is alright with everyone, I will make a 2013 thread for us. Congrats to all those who met and exceeded your goals. For those who didn't, keep your chin up and let's get going and make it happen for 2013!
