I personally think Twitter and/or FB are relationship killing, fake persona breeding and useless info posting sites that are nothing more than popularity contest to gain freinds or followers. I use FB to keep in touch with people I know personally and to network with folks who are in the music scene like myself but there is nothing like communicating with like minded folks like the ones here on OS.
One thing I cant firgure out is why most people choose a social networking site instead of looking for a group of people who share the same hobbies and interest. It makes for much more thought provoking discussions in my opinion. I cant stand joining a discussion on FB only to have it ruined by somebody who doesn't like to write in proper english and you cant even relate to to begin with.
Why is it that I'm sure every male in his 20s or 30s plays video games but I cant find a worthwhile discussion on FB to save my life. Its as if everyone wants to be this cool "swag king" since the women-folk are around and neglect to talk about anything that can be considered lame or nerdy.
I know I dont know any of you personally but I do like the fact that most of us here have the same interest and can talk about anything under the sun. From movies to serious breaking news. I can get the same thing on FB but once the discussion is over, everyone goes there seperate ways and it doesn't feel as if you're actually befriending ppl.
And dont let me get into the topic of relationships. If one more "out of the blue" ex-girlfriend or boyfriend pops up in my life, Imma do a 5 star frogsplash into a pit of fire. lol. I just get pissed cause no matter how hard you try, these ppl refuse to go away and can always find you no matter what. Especially right when every thing is going great in your relationship. I'm sure most, if not all of us are guilty of having an ex of some sort on our friend-list or a friends friend-list.
Just wondering what the rest of you guys feel about it. Do you use OS more for socializing or is your FB/Twitter feeds getting the majority of the attention. Or both. I'm curious to see if I'm alone with this feeling.
