The last sporting event I went to was when I was 8. I went to Maple Leaf Gardens to see the Leafs play the St. Louis Blues after my mom won tickets in a raffle. It had always been my dream to see a real NHL game, something we couldn't really afford. I didn't even sleep the night before the game I was too excited at seeing all of my favourite Leafs players.

So it's 3-3 with less than a minute to go in the game. "Mom, can we stay if there's overtime?" I asked, giddy that I was about to see real NHL overtime action. "Of course we can," she said. I start watching the clock, counting down the seconds until overtime, excited that I actually get to see sudden death overtime.

Then Al MacInnis gets the puck. With only a few seconds left in the game, from center ice, he takes a slapshot. Potvin misses it low on the glove side. It's a goal.

1.7 seconds left in the game. People start leaving. My mom says it's time to go. We file out into the streets without staying for the three stars as a part of the dejected parade of Leafs fans (not an uncommon sight in the downtown core).

Back in AU last weekend. Loved that it was sold out even for a blowout game. Gonna miss this place the next two weekends away.

Sounds great. I actually had a similar thing at the Cubs game, but I was with my brothers. I'd never been to a night game this late in the season when the team sucks, so with fewer people I really took time to look around the park instead of worrying about getting out of the way of a bunch of other people in the concourse.

Went to the Shamrock Series game ND vs. Purdue. Saturday going to the PSU @ Michigan Game. On the 25th Michigan @ Michigan State and then Next Month going to Northwestern @ Notre Dame.

Love college football.
