I have a really hard time throwing things away. I think I still have a box of trophies from when I was a kid up in the attack. I'd say keep it if you have the space. It's nice to revisit those memories once in awhile.

 I only really keep the really sentimental things if I have the space.

 Is there a name for people who can't let stuff go?
 
 Whatever it is, I have it 10x.....it's to the point if I'm playing a RPG that has a item limit, it bothers me to let go of my stuff...Comment

 Keep it if there's room. Hell, make room. Give it to a child or family you KNOW if need be.
 
 You can't throw away your childhood. For someone like me who basically lives in the past so often, those things are invaluable.Comment

 For me, I donate every single toy, video game system, computer and clothing that I don't use. When you see a kid who doesn't have much light up because they got a new toy to play with is much better memory for me than the memories I had with the toys.
 
 Something my family always has done because my parents grew up poor in the Philippines and when they started doing well here in the states we always give back and help the poor.
 
 Even if you think no one is going to play with your old toys, there some poor family in the world that will treat it like gold. So if you can, donate at your local charity or something, just don't throw it out.Comment

 Ive kept just about everything. I used to be really into Ninja Turtles when i was younger. I probably had every single action figure ever made. Still have most of them in a box in my storage space.
 
 Still have all my sports cards and gear, trophies from football, baseball, basketball, and bowling. All gaming systems and games.

 I don't understand this. Why saddle your child with a bunch of crap that is meaningless to him or her?  Maybe it won't be meaningless to them. Some people like nostalgia and consider different things sentimental. The past couple of years my grandparents have been letting each of the grandchildren take a different thing home at Christmas. I see it as another way to be connected and to remember.

 It has been interesting reading how everyone views and handles a situation like this. I have decided I am going to do a little of everything. Some stuff I am going to dump like the puzzles, models and trophies. My dad wanted the trains for some reason. The action figures I am giving to my nephew and he can decide if he wants them or get rid of them. I am going to figure out a package price for the intellevision and games to sell. For me, I am keeping the car my dad and I built, the baseball cards and the damn Evil Knievel my dog chewed the foot on. Can't seem to let that one go, lol!  The train doesn't surprise me. My Dad is retiring in a few months, and one of the things on his list to do in retirement is set up his trains. I think that generation (now in their 40's and 50's), trains were a big part of their upbringing.
 
 I remember back in the day, he'd set them up around Christmas. One of my brothers got a set of his own and made a great winter scene. My other brother built stations and whatnot out of Lego pieces.
