Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Best thread on OS here.
For me, right now, I'm just loving these summer nights. So relaxing. It feels like my childhood is winding down but I'm soaking in every last minute.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Just simply helping someone out. There's a man I would say who is in his 40's always walking around the city with a shopping cart which is overflowing with blue bags of recyclables. I put all my soda bottles and cans in my trunk last night intending to bring them to the depot at some point today. On my way into work I saw him and I pulled over. I gave all 6 bags to him. It only accumulated to $30 but that probably meant a lot to him. He was very grateful. I think from now on I am going to keep them for him for when I see him again.Comment

My mom founded a food pantry in our hometown after 10 years of handing families food out of our garage, so she's kind of instilled a desire to help everyone out whenever I can.NFL: Bills

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
I just hope he buys food with it. You never know if they just buy booze and drugs. That's why I don't like to hand out cash. In the past if I see someone on the street I have bought them a sandwich and coffee and brought it to them.Comment

Yeah, I highly doubt they all do the right things with the money, but at the end of the day, I'm usually in a rush to class when I bump into them, so I don't have time to go wait in line for food or anything. I'm alright with giving someone a few bucks here and there. It's on them to use it the right way.NFL: Bills

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Anytime I borrow his truck I leave my car at his place. Now mind you, my car is a tiny Saturn SL and my Dad's 6-4. He's NOT going to use my car to go anywhere, but everytime he takes it and fills it. Just class, man. I can't wait to that with my kids.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Of all the professions, after all, few people are less suited to be suddenly thrown into the public eye than chefs. We're used to doing what we do in private, behind closed doors.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
You know, I keep going back this one. This truly is a great one. I'm 37 and my Dad STILL does this. But the funny thing is, it's not when he borrows my car, it's when I borrow his truck.
