Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Despite waking up to bad news, I can feel a break in the weather. There's still snow on the ground and temperatures aren't gonna break through the freezing mark this week, but the feeling of baseball has invigorated my bloodstream. Been talking ball with my best friend all morning as we "work" at our respective jobs.
We've played MVP 05 together for years, switching off between innings. It's been a while though, so we're getting together after work to knock out some games and prepare ourselves for spring training and the season ahead.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I'm a dork, I know, but I held an "open competition" between my old ps2 baseball games to see which one I'd try a season with. I played exhibitions in MVP '05, The Show '06, and MLB 2k8. The Show was cancelled because I have ongoing seasons on ps3, so 2k8 had the odds due to being 3 years newer but MVP '05 won in a route anyway. Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
The start of this time of the year.
Time changed so now it doesn't get dark until after 7pm!
Weather gets warmer so now the snow and ice all start to melt!
Happy to see temperatures even slightly above freezing just cause it hasn't been like that for a number of months
Knowing that it won't be as cold as it's been lately, for another 8-9 months!
I like summer months, especially Friday/Saturday evenings when being outside around 8pm is still nice cause it's bright and warm. Winter you just don't feel like doing as much later in evening, especially when it gets dark/even colder by 5-6pm.
Summer I don't mind as much losing track of time, the brightness specifically is reason for that, cause you could look outside at 4pm,see it's nice and bright, and abit later,it's still just as bright, but then you realize it's really 7pm now!Last edited by Majingir; 03-08-2015, 06:04 PM.Comment

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Part of this should be in this thread, other part maybe in grind my gears thread lol:
Looking back at photo albums(yes,I have photo albums, cause even though everything is all digital,it's still nice to have hard copy of important pics) and reminiscing at the moments in there. It's nice to look back and remember things that happened during the time the pic was taken or just the general occasion it was taken. Especially cause for nostalgia, you remember the important(and mostly the good) parts of those moments so it's always fun to look back at those stuff.
Part I hate though is looking back at some of those moments and realizing they probably won't happen again cause some people in the pics might not be around anymore, or people have grown up, moved away or something like that,so you won't get to have everyone together like that again.Comment

The Pleasures of Life Thread
Finding out cool features on my iPhone.
My power button is jammed so I can't sleep my phone, and it bugs the hell out of me. So many pocket dials/opening of apps. My phone was being a bit wonky so I thought it was due for a power down, but didn't know how to do it with my power button jammed. (Don't worry, by charging it it automatically turns back on too)
Well, there's a feature called AssistiveTouch that mainly is used for people who have trouble tapping buttons on the screen. But one of the options within AssistiveTouch allows you to sleep your phone. More steps then just hitting a button but I'll take it considering the button isn't an option anymore.
But the AssistiveTouch icon is kinda annoying. Thought I'd have to get used to it, but I checked around and there's actually a shortcut to toggle the AssistiveTouch icon on and off by triple tapping the home button. Great compromise! There may be even more better and convenient options to sleeping the phone too that I haven't discovered.
Could pay to have Apple or a 3rd party fix the jammed button, but this works for me.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
