Re: OS Basketball Players Thread.
I never talked trash.
"Hey man, look at the scoreboard. Look at #34. 25 points."
That's all the talking that I needed. Unless someone was RELENTLESS with their trash talk, I rarely engaged. Whatever, man. I look forward to scoring on you. I don't need to talk about it when it happens.
That was my mindset. That whole, "act like you've been there before."
I don't need to talk. The game talks all for itself.
That's just me.Comment

Weather's been perfect for basketball here in Michigan the past two weeks. Subsequently, I've been able to go out and run nearly every day. People are excited to be playing right now. The courts in my small city have been live and I love it.Comment

Re: OS Basketball Players Thread.
In terms of talking trash I never really did it. However If guys would mess with me or my teammates, I would throw them elbows on Rebounds, foul them hard, and try to mess them up in any way way possible both physically and mentally. I have broken other players noses in the past with a quick elbow to the face just because they said something to me or one of my teammates in the past. If you try and one up me or one of my boys and act all cocky lets just say the next time you go up for a layup I will hit you low and hit you hard. I hate Arrogance and I hate cockiness.

Re: OS Basketball Players Thread.
So jealous of all you guys getting back out on the court right now. It's been over a month since I've been able to play because my thumbs been so screwed up. Gonna get that and my pointer finger checked out when I go home for Easter. Hopefully I don't need another surgery, because they said if I do, it would be a thumb fusion, and I'm pretty sure that would basically make it impossible for me to really ever play basketball anymore because I won't really have much if any mobility in my thumb so I won't be able to hold the ball. At least that's what it sounds like based on what I've read about the surgery.NFL: Bills

Re: OS Basketball Players Thread.
Wait, what? If someone talks trash to you, you try to physically harm them in return? That makes zero sense. Talking exists throughout the entire game of basketball. For years. Everywhere. But you're saying if someone does that against your team you will try to break their nose? It's time to re-evaluate how you handle yourself on the hardwood. It's not that serious. In terms of talking trash I never really did it. However If guys would mess with me or my teammates, I would throw them elbows on Rebounds, foul them hard, and try to mess them up in any way way possible both physically and mentally. People will always be cocky on the basketball court. A lot of people can't play well unless they act cocky. That in no means justifies an attempt to injure. I don't see how you can pick out something another person does that you don't like and deduce it is then okay for you to injure them. It's like me saying, "I hate dunkers. If someone dunks against my team, I'm undercutting the bejesus out of them next time down, I don't care if they split their head open. They'll learn."
I'm hoping I sort of misunderstood what you said, maybe you're only talking about people who are threatening your lives or punching you first or something, but otherwise, man . . . that's not cool at all. Words aren't going to hurt anyone. You know the real way to counteract arrogance? Out-playing your opponent. What you're discussing is not out-playing. I'd hate to play basketball knowing that if I did something an opponent didn't like, they then would have the supposed right to physically take me out. I'm sorry, but my health insurance sucks. I don't think I should pay with my health for my opponents having a stupid issue about a game.Last edited by VDusen04; 03-26-2012, 10:38 AM.Comment

Let's just say if you were seen hiting someone low over trash talk the entire gym would take cheap shots at you every single time you played again. In terms of talking trash I never really did it. I'm going to assume that this post is full of sarcasm and that you're joking, otherwise all you did was tell us how mentally weak you are on the court. In terms of talking trash I never really did it. Throwing elbows/undercutting players because they're talking trash to your teammates? The hell?#RespectTheCultureComment

Be glad you don't play on the playground where I'm at. Throwing 'bows on the court means it's personal. Which also means instant retaliation in the form of a beat-down. Undercutting someone is just...a big *** NO NO and should never ever be done. Have you seen what happens to players when that happens to them!? And you'd still do it intentionally!?

Re: OS Basketball Players Thread.
I want to apologize for this post, I was out the entire day and night leading up to this and lets just say I had a few too many. I have never broken anyone's nose by throwing an elbow at them while playing basketball and while trash talk usually bothers me I just live with it for the most part. So once again I'm sorry I wasnt in the right state of mind at the time when I posted this.In terms of talking trash I never really did it.
