You should ask this question to mackattack14. He was pro golfer Webb Stinson and a UNC wide receiver... until he got banned that is

I am going to go out on a limb and say NDAlum is the closest thing we've got and is probably the best athlete on OS...

I mean... Notre Dame son! Pretty impressive.

      (no sarcasm, either)

Played baseball at Kent State. But lots of injuries cut my time short.

I play left field for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The system is fatally flawed, dammit!

At least the hitters know you wont be robbing home runs any time soon.

Thanks man. Rowing is really helping me get consideration from really good schools, I mean I'm pretty smart (30 ACT for you guys familiar with the ACT), but rowing is giving me the opportunity to possibly go to a school that I wouldn't get in just from my academics

A 30 ACT score is pretty impressive man, that coupled with you being a D1 level rower is really going to get you somewhere.

Thanks. Being a rower is letting me get consideration from the "worse" ivy league schools (I know they are all great, but I mean the ones that are generally considered not as great) like Brown and Cornell. When if I wasn't a rower, there would be no chance I get in. I have even been talking a good amount with the Harvard rowing coach, but I still don't think he would have the power to get me in.

The good thing about rowing is that a lot of the best schools do it, and that it would make a place like wisconsin (where I would maybe be able to get in w/o rowing), a safety school with rowing.

For you guys that want to know which schools I've had "serious" discussions with

Not quite sure yet. Definitely something math related, or maybe business.

Math is my best subject (I'm taking AP Calculus AB next year).

                          But I don't know yet.

Edit: but it will also depend on what school I end up going to. Like at Notre Dame I would do business because the Mendozza school is great, but somewhere else I may do something else.

Dude. Those are some legit schools. Good luck deciding. That's quite the motley crew of really great academic schools. Let alone rowing (though to be honest, I'm not exactly up on the whole collegiate rowing scene )

                              Once again thanks.

Those are the schools that I've been talking with a lot. So I'll likely get denied from some (like Harvard, and MIT). But hopefully I can get into brown or cornell.

I can't get a scholarship for rowing because of the prop-9 thing, but schools can accept me in when I normally wouldn't get in.

One of the biggest differences between the run of the mill business schools and the Ross's, Sloan's, and Mendoza's of the world is the level of math involved. I'm at my second semester at a pretty good business school and my microeconomics class is already very calc iii heavy. One of the best complements to a business degree can be a math major/minor and if you were to major in Finance, Econ/Strategy, or Operations you would have to do a ton of math anyway, so you don't have to decide to do either math or business because most business outside of marketing, entrepreneurship, or accounting will be pretty math heavy.
