Before LiveStrong bracelets, just wearing rubber bands on your wrist.

Tearing a shirt's sleeve off, and cutting it all the way down the side to the bottom hem so it's basically a cloth sandwich board, and wearing a wife beater under it. I still have a few shirts like that. -________-

Maybe that's more of a country thing, idkAnd may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Marbles were THE thing when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. Everybody had a fanny pack full of em. We'd always play "keepsies"...which would bring about a few fights. Looking back it was really my first dive into gambling.Chicago Bears

 Re: Fads you remember....

When I got to high school, people wearing collared shirts with the collars popped... sometimes with MULTIPLE collared shirts on.

That stuff AMAZED me. Like... how/what? I went to the non-cool middle school, so when I got to HS and mixed in with the cool kids who went to the cool middle school, it was crazy.

Proud to say I didn't participate in any of those fashion fads... now Pokemon cards, now we're talking!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
 NFL - Buffalo Bills
 MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I kept mine in a Crown Royal bag until one of the teachers put the kibosh on that. Like I knew what Crown Royal was...

Yep, at recess when there would be a big match where two kids would put up two coveted marbles against each other for keeps, **** got real. A crowd would form to see that match. Then it would turn into a defensive battle because neither one wanted to lose that marble.Comment

The Crown Royal Bag is legendary because as a kid, you always found some use for it. Whether it'd be Marbles or Loose Change, etc. You ALWAYS had a use for it. #RespectTheCulture #RespectTheCultureComment

 Re: Fads you remember....

There was definitely a hierarchy of what marbles were cool and what weren't. I remember the "cat's eye" was at the bottom. I think "oily's" were towards the top...but I don' remember. Brings back the memories.I kept mine in a Crown Royal bag until one of the teachers put the kibosh on that. Like I knew what Crown Royal was...

 Re: Fads you remember....

I didn't play marbles as a kid........For me as a kid as early as 2nd grade and throughout the rest of my schooling.....we played spades...And we didn't play for fun either, we played for money. If you didn't have at least a dollar on you, you weren't getting in the game.

I remember many times going to school with $5 and coming home with around $40 to $50.Comment

Sock'em Boppers...everybody used to have those things back in the day haha. And apparently that is trying to make a comeback because I just saw a commercial for them, same theme song and everything.

P.S: Tamagotchi was serious business back when I was in 5th/6th grade...people would bring those things to school and pay zero attention to anything other than if their pet was needing somethingCheck out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

In high school, we'd have HUGE dice games during lunch. All the athletes were cramped up in the Boys' basketball locker room going ham until coach busted us. That wasn't pretty.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you.
