Alright, this is going to be the nerdiest **** I've ever said, but I just had to correct you. Pokemon cards came out before Yu-Gi-Oh did. Unless you mean "older brother" as in Yu-Gi-Oh>Pokemon (Gen.1), in which case this is going to become a full-out brawl.

I was into POGs, yo-yos, Pokemon, but around the kids my age at the time (10 or so around 2000), everybody I knew starting getting skateboards because of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

Yeah, the cat's eyes you could just get a bulk bag of those and they were smaller. Those you didn't care about and were really just there for filler.

But if you had the solid colored ones with the swirls of other colors that were bigger, that's where it got serious. And they weren't good if they had chips in them. You'd fully inspect the marble before you ever agreed to put up one of your own against it. Everything short of pulling out one of those magnifiers from the jewelry store.

I started off with baseball cards, but things got real once I started collecting basketball cards. Basketball cards were big around my neighborhood and school. Trading taught me the art of negotiation and many of our deals took hours to complete. I had a real nice collection, I don't know where they are anymore. Maybe they're still sitting in the closet at my mom's house.

Rollerblades. I know I can't be the only one who used to get down on these.

Yu-Gi-Oh cards were awesome too at the beginning, was more fun to play at recess then pokemon imo.

Gameboys. I'd take mine EVERYWHERE. First it was just Pokemon(Yellow, Gold, few of the advance ones), and the Mario.

I always wore shirts like that and still do when I work out. Made me look more cut when in high school which was a plus with the women folk.

Slowed you down like crazy if you actually played any sports in them though because the wind would just make your shirt into a parachute.

Most of the stuff you guys named I remember. Anyone sport the ridiculous looking denim outfits? I had a silver one in high school and someone called me Reynolds Wrap. I hadn't developed my "Shiz F off" persona yet, so it was never worn again.

Hair fads were always great. I've had everything from the Kid N Play Box cut, to the soul glo/S-curl, to corn rows.

Also had the FUBU jerseysm 3 sizes too big of course.

                  I was such an idiot.....

One more, I think this was just at my high school. We (guys) would make our girlfriends give us a hair tie to put on our wrist. As like a man thing in that we, were taking something from them. (I realize this makes no sense now). Looking back on it, I realized we were letting them mark their territory.

                  Again.....I was such an idiot

Using the big dog choker chains as wallet chains. I did this all throughout the mid 90s.

The only fad worth me remembering was mid 90's when girls started wearing jeans with no pockets on the back.
