 Re: Fads you remember....

 Screw scooters in general.

Had one of those, in like 4th grade we only had 1 car so my mom and I went on a walk to the store down the road to get some stuff. I took my scooter, on the way back I tried to open it back and my thumb got stuck in the joint where it moves to open. I pulled it out, ripped my thumb open. Blood everywhere i'm jumping up and down in pain(almost jumped into traffic), running home with a blood shirt all around my thumb. Had to get like 7 stitches.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

 Re: Fads you remember....

Scooters were for wimps and people who couldn't learn to skateboard.

Even the scooter video game was terrible:

 Re: Fads you remember....

Nah, they were for kids... who likes to ride anything.

I've had 4 & 3 wheelers, dirtbikes, bicycles, scooters, and skateboards..

Skateboarding was the big thing, when I first entered high school. We used any excuse we could to meet up and skate.Comment

I'm old, so most of these I'm not sure you'll recognize:

Cell phone fad (before everyone including the homeless could own one), choose brick, car-only, briefcase phone, or flip! Here's the brick.

Feathered hair in the late 70's and early 80's:

Cabbage Patch kids (creepy to me):

Boom boxes, I had a couple like this one, and even bigger that I was able to take to high school every day and play it in the halls between classes and stuff:

 Frankie Goes to Hollywood shirts:

I'm sure I can do quite a few more...LOLGO 'HAWKS!

That cabbage patch kid reminded me of something. My lil bro would hate to know I'm puttin him out there like this but oh well. He used to love his My Buddy. I still tease him about how he played with that doll. My lil sister had the Kid Sister. She cut the hair off and tried to draw makeup on with marker, that was one scary *** looking doll by the time she got finished with it.

All fun and games till kids started getting shot.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Haha. I remember when my mom bought each of those for my sister and me. I used to beat up My Buddy with a baseball bat. That thing went through some hard times. That cabbage patch kid reminded me of something. My lil bro would hate to know I'm puttin him out there like this but oh well. He used to love his My Buddy. I still tease him about how he played with that doll. My lil sister had the Kid Sister.
