For work it's casual so I usually do a polo type shirt and shorts. On weekends I'll do a t-shirt or polo based on where I'm going.

Otherwise I really don't know. Maybe I need more short sleeved button up shirts? I've done the rolled up sleeves thing too, but not much anymore. Interested to hear what people think as well, I'm not at the forefront of fashion lol

I wear a lot of casual button downs and shorts in the summer. I wear jeans if I'm going out unless it's humid as hell. Boat shoes and flip-flops a lot. I don't wear polos as much as I used to, the button downs have taken over my wardrobe.

Sometimes it's cargo shorts/tshirt/sneakers but less and less as I get older (really putting that 60-pair sneaker collection to good use).

Sidenote: I purchased my first couple of casual/dress button downs from Uniqlo. I always thought it was a teenie-bopper brand but I was misinformed. The fit of the shirts is outstanding for me, especially the length and width of the sleeves. Decent quality and they barely wrinkle. I highly recommend them, good value for $20-30.

Long sleeve or short sleeve button downs? Never could get into the short sleeve ones, but I may need to try this summer.

Also, what're people's go-to brand/style of shorts? I grew a little around the waist so I need to buy some new pairs.

I don't think I've worn a short sleeve button down since middle school lol. It's just not a good look IMO esp since long sleeves rolled up is a great look.

I wear Dockers shorts mostly. I have these in Apple Butter and Deck Blue. Kohl's has them on sale for $35.

I have so many pairs of cargo shorts from the last decade that I rarely wear, Levis are probably my favorite pair though.

EDIT: Kohl's website seriously ****ing blows.

any advice on suit shopping? i'm just about to graduate college so my budget is very constrained. looking for an affordable place with some good styles. I have a couple vest/jacket combos that my grandfather gave me that look great, but he only had one pair of pants between them, and i'm not a huge fan of the fabric, plus they're a navy-ish blue, so they don't work with a lot of what I have. The jacket I really like is grey, I could probably post pictures if need be. But, I'm basically looking for things to match with what I already have (difficult, I know) or an affordable place to get a new suit.

Kohls is great. Learn to utilize the coupons and you'll get away with some nice deals. JCPenny's used to be good, but they've reduced their inventory so go in at your own risk.

I can't afford anything more than that though Belk and Macy's would probably both be in the same ball-park, but we don't have any local so yeah.

As far suits/pants/shirts goes - TRY EVERYTHING on before you buy. Everything fits differently even shirts in the same "model" so try everything on. You want it to be form fitting, but not so tight where it is uncomfortable or constraining. There should be sales people around to help you with lengths, but basically the pant should be to about the top of the shoe and the jacket arm should rest close to the middle palm with the arm extended down at the side (another method is to make sure it covers your rear).

Matching colors is pretty easy. Blacks and greys are easy. I also like mixing blues in with both of them. Once you get the hang of it its pretty easy. Just start with a shirt or tie you like and then match it to the other pieces.

Gotten to the point where everything in the outfit has to coordinate.

                    For tomorrow evening's festivities:

                    Oxford navy blazer from Zara
                    Button down shirt
                    Yellow bow tie
                    Yellow pocket square
                    White chinos
                    Yellow socks
                    Brown Oxford dress shoes
                    Ray Ban nerd frames
                    White watch

                    I stay dapper.

I do not care what the weather is temperature wise, but it will be cool tomorrow.

Dress shoes (the less expensive ones), boots/chukkas, loafers/mocs, desert boots (Clarks), sneakers (Jack Purcells/Sambas etc.).

Rule of thumb, they look good/great but you're not scared for them to be stepped on/spilled on.

Personally, that's the only shoe among your choices that I would consider buying.

A little late but places like Jos A Bank run a lot of sales and people have told me they have good suits. Last week, they had a sale on $650 suits for 2 for 299 so I took advantage of that. I'm in the same situation you are, I graduated from college back in February.

On another note, I need some advice for jackets and coats for the fall/winter. What jackets/ coats are good for casual or going out and what are good for a professional environment? Price ranges, stores, brands, whatever would be helpful is appreciated. I just don't want to be an idiot and completely overpay for a jacket because I'm not good at looking.
