Re: Insomina: The offical sleepless zombie thread
I don't have insomnia per se, but its impossible for me to fall asleep before 4am no matter when i lay down, how early i GOT up, and how early i have to get up. I can go to bed at midnight and be laying there until 4. So i've stopped trying. I'll average about 3 hours of sleep a night. The days off from work will probably net me six from about 5 am to 11 am.HELLO BROOKYLN.

I've found myself to be more tired then ever recently. Guess I'm working more and harder than I have before.

Re: Insomina: The offical sleepless zombie thread
3 years ago I had a really bad string of little to no sleep for several weeks in a row. I was back in college full time and was working 2nd shift at a convenience store which I hated. Had 12 credit hours and was working 24-32 hours a week. My schedule was all out of wack as I had classes from 8am-1:30pm and then would work 2pm-10 during the week, and 3pm-11pm on Friday's and Saturdays. During the week I was not sleeping well at all and ever when I stopped drinking pop at work, I still could not sleep. I went 2 days with zero sleep and was a zombie. Then I got some sleeping pills and that slowly cleared up. I just could never wind down after working that late and do homework and go to bed. Stress was kicking my butt between classes and a job I hated making $8.50 an hr.
Every now and then I have trouble getting to sleep and end up clock watching until 3am or so.
I feel for people who have this often. I hate not being able to sleep well even 1 night a month.Last edited by Herky; 06-11-2012, 07:58 PM.GT: Herkyalert

Re: Insomina: The offical sleepless zombie thread
I'm far from an insomniac, but don't sleep much. A normal night of sleep is somewhere between 4 - 4 1/2 hours sleep. Always felt like I could miss something if I went to bed early.Comment

Re: Insomina: The offical sleepless zombie thread
Have suffered from insomnia for around 10 years now. It's only gotten worse over time. Then two years ago I started taking Melatonin to help me sleep. It works great. Throughout school the last two years I've been asleep by midnight to wake up at 8 to get ready for class. Without it, I was falling asleep anywhere between 2am to 4am and waking up around 7am.Comment

Re: Insomina: The offical sleepless zombie thread
I toss and turn for hours and usually end up finally being able to fall asleep after 5. What sucks is I get headaches and my eyes start throbbing because I can't fall asleep.
I usually take Nitequil before I go to bed every night because it's the only way I can get to sleep and stay asleep.--

Sadly, it doesn't make me fall asleep as much as it knocks me out when I finally do fall asleep and makes me want to not wake up.
It does give me some crazy vivid dreams though, so its got that going for it lol
If I really need to go to sleep, some good old fashion cold medicine works wonders. I couple doses of that will make it impossible to keep your eyes open for 30 minutes. The downside is its even worse than the melatonin on making me feel groggy in the morning so I try not to rely on it too often.
Anyway, lately I seem to rarely be falling asleep before the sun comes up. Time for attempt #2 at hitting the hay!Last edited by AllJuicedUp; 06-12-2012, 05:20 AM.Comment
