To be fair, that little girl is pretty impressive - but what she was doing wasn't all too impressive (save for the fact it was being done by a 13 year old girl.) Pretty good shot though, of course we couldn't check her accuracy and precision.

Shooting at non-moving targets with a shotgun from maybe 5-60ish yards away, then shooting some B Mod targets with a pistol from maybe 25-35 yards.

I cook mainly by sight when it comes to measuring, but I'll do them this weekend and get you a good base to go by when it comes to "amounts" happy".

I'v been collecting and shooting for a few years now, dont consider myself the best shot but i enjoy it.

Own a AR-15, AMD-65, K98 Mauser, a couple Nagants, a Enfield, Along with a Rugar 10-22, Marlin .35 Remington, Finnish Suomi that weighs a ton, a 30-06 Savage, a Yugo SKS, and a few others.

Want to get a pistol eventually, just haven't had the funs for one. Would like a Springfield XDm.

Heres a picture of it, its one of those Mitchell's Mausers so the stock is real nice. I got it back in 2009 for 600 bucks, overpaid a bit but guns were up in price then like they are now, no regrets though. Have a few thousand rounds of surplus for it but i haven't really shot it a ton. Its almost too nice to shoot corrosive ammo through, might try and pick up a M24 mauser eventually to shoot more of that old crap off.

I have the tools to handload so what i should really do is just work up some loads for it. Might pick up some 8MM brass and dies soon.

I love my remington 887 tactical. Took about 20-25 shells to break in, but after that it's been like butter. It's a bit shorter then your typical hunting shotgon which is great for in home scenarios. Plus it looks pretty badass too!

Something like this would be my choice for a home defense shotgun, you want the thing to be as short as possible and the price is right.

I use the Taurus Judge for home defense. It's not a shotgun, but it shoots .410 shotgun shells, so it gives that good close range power without having to worry about a bullet tearing threw a bunch of walls and hitting somebody in the apartment next door.

Is 12 gauge typical for home defense? I just know the one 12 gauge I have shot blew the **** out of my shoulder, but it was an older hunting shotgun.

Most people like a 12 gauge, but you would still be fine with a 20 gauge. Im not a fan of 410's for this as theirs not all that much shot in a 410 shell.
