By truly redundant do you mean around the clock coverage of Jets training camp since Monday morning?

Wait, I gotta go, I think Tim Tebow had a bowel movement...gotta see what Herm Edwards thinks about it.

Closest I get to news is listening to Walter and Johnson in the morning while driving to work

I keep up with the news, but I find myself actually watching it less and less, especially in an election year. It's worse now since about 90% of the commercials during the news are campaign ads.

I get most of my news online but when I do watch it it's Fox News. I like their morning show, Fox and Friends.

I get my news from Dookie.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

                  National? Rarely.

Local? Sure, couple times a week. And I choose which networks purely on which has the more attractive women. The news is the same from channel-to-channel, so I might as well get eye candy as I get the rundown.

Not to mention how much fear mongering, division creating, and finger pointing that goes on a daily basis.

Human interests stories bore me to tears. Not every issue or topic needs to have a face. I would like to find a more moderate news source that is built upon facts and research, but mainstream news is not the place to find it.
You hit the nail on the head. A lot of people watch these Opinion based shows on MSNBC, CNN, or FOX and assume what they are hearing is fact when it is just a opinion. I also really believe that these cable news channels are aimed at dividing the Country.

I don't think they do it intentionally, but they really do make you feel like you have you choose a side (R or D). I would like to live in a world where people attack things within context and not based off a two second sound bite.

That's the worst part about the cable networks though CNN is probably a lot more staid with their presentation, even their opinion shows aren't as brash as MSNBC and FOX.

It's less about truly analyzing what's going on and more about forcing everyone to pick a side and yell. Discourse has been ruined in this country by the screaming fringe minority on both sides.
The only major network/cable news I like is CBS Sunday Morning, but I never get to wactch it anymore because my 5yr old is not waking me up @ 0600 in the morning lol...he's sleeping in too.

CSPAN is great! I listen in the morning on the way to work, and on the way home. NPR is good too.

I hate the news with a passion, Why do I want to watch the world burn every day? I realize keeping up with current events is important, but for me ignorance is bliss. I really wish I had never heard a word about some of the mass shootings, or terrorist attacks.

I was working out in the weight room in my complex, when I glanced at the tv, and saw the news on the Aurora shooting, and I about threw up, it literally ruined my workout session.

                              I hate the news.
