    After a day it's loses 50% value.

    It is what it is.

It's just like a new car. You open that box you drop your money in half. If you wait for the next version of a game to come out what do you expect? I always trade in last year's version when I pre-order the new game, and I usually get 10-$15. It also doesn't hurt to have the power up rewards card for gamestop.

I traded in 6-7 games, most 6 months-1 year old, and with my card got $120. Enough to preorder NCAA and Madden without paying a dime. I was pleased. Got rid of games I'll never touch again, and didn't have to pay for new games.

It's not so much the trade-in value that gets me, it's that they'll give you $5 for a used game, then turn around and try to sell it for $54.99.

I always trade in my old sports games, usually a month or two before the new one comes out. I don't view it as I paid $60 for this game, but only got $10 back. I prefer to view it as I rented the game for 10 months for $50.

Dude, the games they give you $5 for they aren't selling for $54.99. They put those games up at like $19.99 or $24.99. The only games they are throwing up at $54.99 are the ones they are giving you $20+ for.

              Maybe I exaggerated a bit.

To be fair, I haven't traded-in or bought anything at Gamestop in a few years. But the last time I did, I got something like $12 for a game that they turned around and sold for $50.

What's the point in taking someones used game if you aren't going to make a profit? GS is a business, you know? Just like a used car lot or a pawn shop. If you want closer to what the game is worth sell it on eBay or Craigslist yourself.

I probably wont ever take a game back to gamestop. There business is too good there. Seriously you buy the game for 60, they buy it off you for 2, sell it again for 50 haha. I'd honestly rather just keep the game

BB Bonus Credit Sunday? I want to unload a bunch of old games and that's an amazing deal (I'm usually lucky to get 20-30% on a Gamestop deal sometimes).

I'm moving in 2ish months, so want to sell games I'll never realistically play again. Plus now I'm a member of the BB Gamer Club (because I wanted KoA for 10 bucks I joined)....Does that add on to the 100% at all?

You know what that tells me?

You hosed yourself. Not being an ***, but seriously.

If you made $12 on a game that was resold for $50, you only have yourself to blame.

I always (unless I'm being lazy and want GameStop to do the work) research prices around the internet and then sell my old games for slightly cheaper.

You should have put that $12 game on the market for $40.

Probably. I get lazy sometimes and take the cheap, quick buck instead of trying to maximize the value.

Like I said earlier, I end up viewing it more as "I paid X to rent the game for X months" than "I bought this game for X and only got X back."

I sell all my stuff on Ebay. You get good prices on them usually around $12-30 a game.

If you absolutely have to go to GameStop to trade stuff in, wait until they offer a special so the more you trade in, the more you get back.

I am for the most part, done with GameStop, I would much rather support my local economy and go with the mom and pop store
