    Re: Tropical Storm Isaac

A tornado was on ground, about 19 miles away from my residence. So I guess it's safe to say that Issac's presence is felt, even if not directly.

Pressure continues to drop, hearing Isaac could reach hurricane status this evening.

I'm nowhere near the Gulf Coast (It's at least a 3- 3 1/2 hour drive) and we're still expected to see some storms/possible tornadic activity.

People in this state jump any time you say Tornado, after 2011..

We have been known to get some straight line wind damage and power loss, from some of these Gulf Coast hurricanes. I know Ivan knocked out our power for close to a week..

Yeah, I lived in North Alabama during Ivan and we were without power for a week too. I moved to Mobile a few months later. Dennis was going to be my first hurricane on the coast, but we bailed. We ended up spending a lot of time in the storm shelter in North Alabama over the next day or two. We decided that we would ride the next one out. The next one was Katrina. Big mistake.

You're right, Isaac is a dick! Winds up to 70mph looking at a late tuesday night early wednesday landfall.

Isaac is on the verge of becoming a hurricane. Another thing to note is that he is slowing down which is not good. At the last update it was moving at only 6mph...

Hurricanes you can prepare for. Tornadoes are so frequent that I don't know why anyone would plant themselves in the south

Isaac, you son of a bitch.

You couldn't have gone just a little further east to get me out of work today? Noooo... You had take the perfect path that keeps me at work in quasi-tropical storm conditions.

Last year Irene hit CT on my birthday (Aug 27th).

This year I am now in Orlando, and Isaac pissed some CT like rain (as in more than 20 minutes of typical Florida rain, so all day of rain) on, you guessed it, my B-day!

If the Mayans don't get us, I am going to have something special for next year's B-Day!
