Re: Can You Make It Through This Post Without Wanting To Be In 5th Grade Again?
Well, she started school a year late and was held back a year, so she was 16 in the 8th grade. I was in the 6th grade and was 12, but she was under the impression that I was 13. Honestly, I'm not sure there's much difference between 12 and 13, if the age gap is all ready that huge.
My sister absolutely hated her, which made matters even more funny. When I start doing the math, I think she was actually a year older than my sister, because my sister graduated at the age of 19. She just didn't give a **** about school then and my mom refused to send her to summer school to make it up. She made her stay behind a year and learn her lesson the hard way. In her defense, the teacher who's class she failed, was a complete bitch. The school made her stop sending home work, because it had got so bad. I somehow passed her final exam with a 90.
I don't know what happened to her after we broke up. I sort of just avoided her for two weeks and she kept trying to call and ****, which didn't set well with my parents at all. She started getting on my nerves and I didn't know how to break up with her.. lol.Last edited by AUChase; 09-27-2012, 02:46 PM.Comment

Those Choose Your Own Adventure books were the ish! I hated reading but those were never big books and you could always choose an ending but if you didn't like it just go back.

Did anybody else have "Field Day" or basically an entire day dedicated to PE?
I remember if the Teacher was proud of our class for doing something good, we'd get Extra Recess, which was like the equivalent of winning the Lottery except without actually winning money.
We got these depending on where we placed in an event
Spoiler
Then at the end we'd get ice cream/snowcones and total up all the events and our class would get some big banner with where we finished that was pretty much bragging rights the rest of the year.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

They are a little more recent I guess, but these were my favorite books of all time until I started reading Harry Potter later on.

Pre-algebra was in my school. I think they even had introductory to foreign language. That was in RI.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

My 5th grade books
Hardy Boys
The Hobbit
The Witch of Blackbird Pond
And a GMSS nerd confession.......I use to read the dictionary and the whole set of encyclopedias on a regular basis from front to back year round. Yes my parents was one of those types that gave their kids home work assignments during summer vacation, spring break and christmas break. When I was sick, I wasn't allowed to watch tv, instead they gave me a damn book to read.Comment

I still have every single one of my Goosebumps books. I have roughly 50 of them. They are still in great condition and I'm hoping my son will enjoy reading them when he gets older. I had some great times reading those books.Comment
