Re: Off Topic 2013
What? That movie is a classic man.
Video Game Question:
Spoiler
I finished up The Witcher 2 the other night (badass game, highly, highly recommended) and if I had not promised my cousin that he could borrow it I'd be starting a new play through immediately. Since that isn't an option I'm trying to decide what to go through next.
I'm pretty much trying to decide between finally going through Assassins Creed 3, Alan Wake, restarting State of Decay, Force Unleashed, and there's a couple more sitting in my cabinet that I'm forgetting.
Battlefield and NCAA will take up the rest of my gaming time until I ship out later this year. I owe it to Battlefield. I've been playing it several times a week since it's release. It's the gift that just keeps on giving.
Also, I found State of Decay to be more difficult than everyone else did for some reason.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
The problem I had with State of Decay that kind of made me quit or keep me from going back was that it felt like I was making no progress and for some reason I couldn't bring in any more survivors once I left the church. You start the game up and deal with situations and either while you're clearing things up or right after a similar mission will pop up.

Force Unleashed, IMO, was fun and a cool canonical Star Wars story. The novelization was actually decent too, for extra nerd points.GO 'HAWKS!

I think the future is bright for that small development team and State of Decay is a lot of fun for what it is, but I lost interest before I even got away from the church.Comment

I hate open world games where there's almost "too much" stuff to do at once. I like options, but two equally important objectives shouldn't be up for me at once. I hear about some commotion in the City, yet there's some **** going down at that big farmhouse.

I agree about Undead Labs. For an XBLA title State of Decay is amazing and I definitely got more than $20 enjoyment out of it.
Alan Wake was great...very creepy, very atmospheric. It's also set up in chapters like a weekly tv show so it has good stopping points. Really enjoyed that game. Quite memorable.

I did actually manage to blast through Force Unleashed when it came out, but I want to play through again and do some "achievement" collecting while reliving a really fun and enjoyable Star Wars game since they're so rare anymore. Its hard going from Rogue Squadrons, Jedi Academies, Battlefronts, and KotORs to essentially nothing.

Re: Off Topic 2013
I've noticed with completely open world games if I don't stick to the story and get lost doing all the side-quests and collections that I won't push myself through to the end. As amazing as Far Cry 3 is (and really even the main missions are pretty impressive) I've yet to finish it simply because I hit that second island and felt like I started a completely new game. I still need to finish that and play Blood Dragon. Damn these games.

I've played about halfway through Alan Wake when it came out and have kept the game so I would finish it. It is very creepy. Not sure why I stopped playing.

I have Alan Wake in my steam library, I played like 25 minutes and and never went back, should give it another try, seemed creepy as hell.
Haven't tried Far Cry 3 but I really want to, heard it gives your moneys worth."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Don't read if you plan on playing and/or haven't gotten to the second island:

Something about that second island made it much harder for me to finish. It wasn't nearly as awesome as the first. I think it was

SpoilerI did like that mission, but it was anti-climatic when you "sobered" up and he was dead. Those drug missions, while fun, were kind of repetitive.
So my boss brought me a $20 to Jimmy Johns and an Oatmeal Raisin cookie. For ****s and giggles I looked up the calorie count for the cookie. Mofo is 400 damn calories.

I was ready for Far Cry 3 to be over by the time I made it to the second island. That's not to say the game isn't great.
Now that I'm finished with that I've begun Borderlands 2. Splitting time between NCAA is going to make it very hard to finish before Grand Theft Auto V next month.Comment

The second island is huge, but it feels less populated by activities than the first.
