So this weekend, I will be spending it in Tennessee. I'm going to the Univ. of TN vs. Georgia game then going to watch the Titans vs. Chiefs.

Thinking about going to Dollywood on Friday... Is it worth it? Any other ideas of places to see around Knoxville and Nashville?

I haven't been to Dollywood in a few years, but I didn't think it was all that fun. We went just to say we did, rode a few rides, and saw some show.

If you're in the area and have the time, I say check it out. If there's something else you might wanna do instead, I would do that.

I will say this, they had a few creative roller coasters there. The Tennessee Tornado is cool and they had another that was dug out underground. It turns pitch black and you can't see a damn thing.. something happened in there that made me fear for my life.. and I don't scare easily lol.

Bills win Sunday, Reds play-in game tomorrow night, Flyers open the season on Wednesday. I can fill tonight with Rays/Rangers for the play-in to the play-in.

I also really like Townsend, TN....south of Knoxville in the Smokies. You drive through town, turn right, and there's a really nice scenic loop through a part of the state park/forest area.

I remember going down to Gatlinburg for a family vacation years ago. The Ripley's aquarium was pretty cool and the tourist town sections were fun to walk through and check out the specialty shops.

You're only going for the weekend and you're going to two football games, are you going to have time to do anything else?

Nevertheless, here's my suggestions.

If you're going all of the way to Pigeon Forge, then I would suggest CLIMB WORKS too. It's about 40-45 minutes away from Dollywood and it's actually the #1 rated attraction in Gatlinburg (according to Trip Advisor).

Just check out the reviews. My wife and I went in 2011 and it was awesome. Once you start your feet don't hit the ground for two hours.

Also if you're going to Dollywood, then there's a restaurant right outside of it called The Old Mill Pottery House Cafe and Grill. We only ate there once for lunch, and I had a Prime Rib sandwich that was on special. It was to die for.

Around Nashville I would suggest The Lovelass Cafe for breakfast one morning. It's about 30 minutes away from downtown, but it's worth the drive. http://www.lovelesscafe.com/

Other than that I've just been out partying in downtown Nashville at night. The Stage and Tooties are two the only two bars that I remember by name. They're worth a visit, especially if you're single.

^Thanks for the detailed info. We fly early Thursday morning so have half the day on Thursday and all day Friday to do stuff then it's football all weekend.

The college I go to is having us vote on which band we want to have come perform this spring. This is the first time they've actually let us pick, which makes me happy since I never cared for the previous artists (Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, etc). The problem is, I don't particularly care for any of these either. I don't really dislike any of them though, except the country ones. So which would give me the most entertainment?
