    Off Topic 2013

So I just got an ipad.

Is there any reason for me to get an IPhone when I currently have an android?

P.S. I'm not tech savvy at all.

Not really, both Android and iOS really do the same thing in a different package. Personally not a fan of the apple setup so i stick with androids.

This is for all the OS Canadians.

Two quick-thinking men on Newfoundland's northeast coast managed to save a Greenland shark from choking to death on a large piece of moose hide this past weekend.

Is there a big difference in wiper blades as they get more expensive? I've always bought the cheapest ones ($15-20 for a pair). I'd really like to get wiper blades that don't streak or make noise for an extended period of time. Are the more expensive wipers (around $40 for a pair) worth it?

Rain-X Latitude is the only thing I'll ever use on my car. Never that much more expensive than the OEM replacements, and so worth it IMO.

The revolutionary Rain-X Latitude® wiper blade contours to the curvature of your windshield to provide even wiping pressure along the full length of the blade.

This. I used to use the cheap $5 ones and when I lived in NE Ohio, I'd have to replace them ever year. I've been using the same set of Latitude blades for going on 5 years now. Still work like new through all the rain, snow, and ice. Sure, I paid 4x as much, but they've paid for themselves so far.

It's always hit or miss for me. I had Latitudes and they blew. In less than a year they started to just skip over the water it seemed like. Maybe the Texas sun dried them up because they didn't get used that often. I have a set by Bosch on right now and they are fairing better.

Read some reviews for these and some people were saying they were great for rain, but not so much in snow.

It's been a little while since I've had to use them in snow, but I don't remember having a problem. Got those things in like March '09 and they worked just fine today in freezing rain. I'm sure I'll have snow to test again soon.

Only complaint I've ever had about them is they are loud in high winds/at high speed. I can be cruising at about 70 and with winds, they vibrate. At 80 with no wind you'll hear them, but eh, price to pay because I like them.

We get plenty of snow up here and they do great in the winter. The only thing you have to be careful with is when ice forms on your windshield and you have to break it off, but that's just a general problem you could run into with any set of blades.
