Re: Off Topic 2013
I really did play like crap though. By far my worst performance in a year. Worst possible time too. My head just wasn't in it today. At least I'll get to watch the Royal Rumble live and not on the DVR delayed though. I need sleep so I can come back strong for the $200 weekly tourney tomorrow.Comment

Would someone care to explain to me why ESPN finds it necessary to have 6 X-Games over the course of 8 months? I hardly watched when they had two.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: Off Topic 2013
The key hand that really got me a little on tilt happened late in the second level (blinds were 50-100). The guy under the gun limps in for 100 and it's folded around to me on the button. I look down and have A-K of diamonds. I raise to 400. The small blind folds, the big blind calls and the UTG limper calls. The flop comes A-J-6 all spades. It's checked around to me and I bet 1100 (there was 1250 in the pot, so a healthy bet to scare everyone away) and the big blind calls and the UTG guy folds. The turn is a meaningless 9 of hearts to make the board As-Js-6s-9h. Big blind checks again and then I bet 2500 (there was 3450 in the pot, so again, a big bet to try and win the pot right there) and the big blind immediately goes all-in. I tanked for about 90 seconds or so pondering what to do. I figured out of all the hands he could possibly have right there, that A-Q was the only one I could beat and if he did have A-Q he probably had the Q of spades, so it was scary. Well, he had me covered (I only had about 4200 left at this point) so I thought it was wise to lay the hand down. Now, this guy is an extremely solid player and I do not know what he had, but I really don't know how I could have been ahead. Remember, he was in the big blind so he could have had any two cards. Could have already had a flush for all I know, or even two pair or a set of sixes.
I like my fold there, but I probably shouldn't have made such a large bet on the turn. I hate, hate, HATE playing defensively but perhaps checking back on the turn and seeing the river for free would have been the best bet in this particular scenario. The pot would have been still sitting at 3450 and as long as there was no spade on the river, it would have been okay to call any bet under 2,000 or so. Ugh! I just hate playing soft though, so I had to make a huge bet on the ****ing turn like a maniac.Last edited by 55; 01-27-2013, 06:58 PM.Comment
