Re: Off Topic 2013
Basketball was serious business in my school. One of the PE teachers even played the students 1 on 1. Nobody could beat him and everybody use to call him Larry Bird. He didn't have great handles, but damn it his defense was very good and his jumper was golden.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
Man, people were bitches in my school when it came to sports..
In 7th grade PE a guy was guarding me and they trapped me on the baseline and instead of just forcing me out the ******* shoved me into the stage that was a few feet away. I bounced the ball off his forhead and then when he came at me I swung on him and it was on..
The only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was kickball, soccer, and dodgeball. Basketball just always led to a bunch of bull **** because no one knew the rules and everyone wanted to be the ref.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I was like that.
Coed Volleyball was the best time of the year in High School (well.. really anything coed was awesome with those tight.. short.. spandex shorts). Most of the football and soccer players took it so seriously, the girls would get scared and just kind of stand there.
If they couldn't hit the ball back over the net, someone was jumping in front of them or coming over their back to hit the ball before it got to them.
We use to get in trouble all the time because of that stuff.
I think more people got injured in Coed Volleyball then all of the sports in high school combined. It was that serious.
That reminds me of my 2nd grade teacher (not my gym teacher, just the regular teacher). One day during recess she decided she would play touch football with the boys and managed to tear cartilage in her knee while doing so and had to have it scoped.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Off Topic 2013
I got away with taking way too many PE classes in HS, but whatever I had too many credits at one point and wasn't signed into any AP classes.
Freshman year I had Health class that was required we'd be in the classroom some days a week then in the gym doing all these different sports.
Sophomore year is where it got funny cause I messed up my schedule and there was nothing that could be done. I had weightlifting and a gym class where he'd just throw out balls and we'd play 3v3 or 21. However I was also in debate which I didn't want so got put in Driver's Ed which then in the last semester turned into another bball class where we'd play around the world.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I wish ours was like that. Our classes were 42 minutes and gym consisted of:
5 minutes changing into gym uniform
5 minutes taking attendance
15 minutes of him talking about how important the sport we were playing was and how good he was at it
10-15 minutes actually participating
5 minutes changing back into regular clothes) and the talking about the sport.
After we changed into our uniform he gave us a big red bag full of basketballs and told us to go have fun.
The best thing about my PE class my senior year was that there 6 basketball team members in that class and 4 guys (including myself, I wasn't as good then as I am now (can almost walk on to the Grambling team, which isn't really saying much considering we suck)) who were decent and can shoot.
We were constantly playing 5 on 5. And then it was the last class of the day? The basketball team had to stay anyway and we would always get a chance to finish our game out. Good times.Comment
