They stop having recess in my school system back in 1988. Stop having PE as a requirement in Chicago back in 2000 or 2002 when my brother was in school. They changed PE to an elective instead. Most kids didn't want it, surprisingly and instead took band or some other class instead.
It's really weird imo for an elementary school, these kids have no time to get active and let out all this energy they have. And they wonder why these kids are starting to get more obese, etc.

I think it's weird no matter what level of school it is, up to high school.

I graduated high school in 2008 and Gym (or "P.E") was mandatory. My freshman year of high school whenever I was in Florida, it was also mandatory.

I had no problem with it, and most didn't. At least in my classes they didn't, but most of us were athletes.

Weird indeed, but hey parents approved of it, but yet wonder why their kids can't do a push up or run a block without sucking for air. Going to get even worse, because up here elementary schools are completely getting rid of text books and moving to tablets only starting next school year.

So now they will completely will not get any sort of physical activity what so ever if all they have to carry to school is a tablet.

People are paying top money to have their nose look hers ? Wow. Reminds me of when people paid for butt implants to have J Lo's butt. Or that guy who paid all that money to look like super man.

Yeah I hated middle school because I could only get into a Gym class once in my 3 years there and I was very active in elementary school. In HS I had a Gym class every year but Senior year to get my weightlifting for football done.

PE was mandatory for us in high school. I always liked it, but I was always one of those "PE All-Star" types, mostly because I refuse not to try when I do anything. I have a tendency to go all out no matter what.

Coed Volleyball was the best time of the year in High School (well.. really anything coed was awesome with those tight.. short.. spandex shorts). Most of the football and soccer players took it so seriously, the girls would get scared and just kind of stand there.

If they couldn't hit the ball back over the net, someone was jumping in front of them or coming over their back to hit the ball before it got to them.

We use to get in trouble all the time because of that stuff.

I think more people got injured in Coed Volleyball then all of the sports in high school combined. It was that serious.

PE was fine in high school except when we had to do stupid **** like archery, orienteering, ballroom dancing, and self defense.

My PE consisted of the following:

                            Swimming for 4 weeks
Basketball for the rest of the school year. Unless we had a female PE teacher. Then they made us do volley ball half the school year.

We did all of those except for self-defense. I really enjoy archery, which is odd because I'm not normally a huge fan of hunting and that sort of thing. And orienteering wasn't so bad. We used to do dancing right around prom time which was pointless because no one actually used the stuff we learned at prom. We did all sort of different things in PE, my favorites were when we did pickleball (essentially large scale ping pong where you are essentially standing on the "table" aka the floor.) or when we'd play kickball in the gym and you could basically kick the ball anywhere, out in the halls, back into the weight room, up onto the stage, wherever.
