      Re: Off Topic 2013

Long post: I'm bored at work.

      I enjoyed HS a lot.

I went to the same school for 13 years (K-12) andI went to school with a lot of the same people my entire life. It had some dis advantages, but a couple of the "feeder school" students in the area that didn't have a high school joined in with our school in 9th grade and I met a lot of new people that I had never known before. My "best friends" (if this even exists at the age of 23) have been my good friends since I first started school in kindergarten. One of my buddies that I hang out with on weekends and I have been friends for 18 years..

The benefit of knowing most of my classmates that long meant we didn't really have the typical groups you see (jocks, nerds, etc.). The entire graduating class of 225 people were all at least on speaking terms. When someone was throwing a party, they usually turned out to be massive.

High school was a breeze. I don't recall ever really having any homework, unlike middle school. I passed all my graduation exams the first try in 10th grade, so my Junior and Senior year was just spent making sure I accumulated enough credits to graduate. I missed like 40 days my senior year and was drunk for some of the days I was at school.. not an over statement.. also spent two weeks in "alternative school" my senior year. I got kicked out of prom along with a few other people for suspicion of drinking. I had not drank anything in several hours either.. lol.

They wanted me to call my parents (my mom would have murdered me) and luckily my friend's mom was there in the parking lot and I was like "HEY MOM" and she knew exactly what I was doing the moment I said that and another friend's mom bailed out my buddy. We went ahead and left and went to her house and started drinking. She drove us to the prom party and picked us up at 5am, because she didn't want us drinking and driving.. really awesome lady.

She made me call my mom when I got back to her house, though.. she was pissed off, but not as mad as she would have been if she had to come get my ***.

In conclusion.. I had way too much fun in HS.. just as much fun as I had in Middle School and I was working and paying for my car and insurance.

Because autocorrect knows that everyone in Iowa hates middle school.

I saw a couple pictures of my cousin in NYC. Her car is literally covered in snow and threatening to turn into ice. She had one pic of her taken getting the snow off the car and there was snow almost all the way up to the top of the tires. It was about knee high. (though she's short)

And here I thought we had it bad........

My contact lenses have been waging a war on my eyes all day. I forgot my sunglasses at home too, which makes things even worse.

Got our state taxes yesterday. :moneybags:

Payed down some credit, booked a room in SF for chinese new year, called a guy to tape and texture my game room, and bought my wife a scratcher. :broke:
Oh and when I get my federal check... I'll be coming to see you, chase.

My state return will only be a few hundred. But once the IRS starts processing my federal.... My education credits means they won't process that until February 14, but that one will be large.

Yeah I'm waiting for Feb 14th too. We claimed my daughters education credits. That was pretty substantial.

Nothing better then getting tax money, it felt good to pay some of the dr bills I've accrued lately. Plus treating myself to a new headset and Louisville basketball tickets doesn't hurt either.

On a side note, flat iron steaks cooked on a electric skillet are damned tasty.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Yeah after I pay down the rest of my credit Dr bills are next. Although not as bad as they used to be. I used to be upwards of 2g's in Dr bills each year. But being I work at a hospital, my family and I can use the clinic for routine stuff and it's all free. If I had to gues I owe about 800 or so in Dr bills.

I'm still waiting on a W2 from one of my previous employers this year. I'm pretty pissed about it. My other jobs all had it to me via mail in early-mid January. This place though, yeah, doesn't surprise me. Piece of **** company.

Isn't it kinda illegal to not have them mailed out by 2/1?
