Re: Off Topic 2013
And this is where I'm coming from. If there was anything I learned in 8th Grade Health class, it was that energy comes primarily from carbohydrates, and protein, along with fats and when engaging on physical activity, carbs are a definite must... Gatorade provides carbohydrates that can be used in short order specifically for immediate use, so when engaging in physical activity, products like Gatorade can be very useful.

Water is not a key to everything. And I'm not claiming Gatorade is a key it either. But I have no idea how anybody can drink nothing but water and go under physical duress like that and still claim it is afterwards. It's an incredibly stupid way to go at it.And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

could not be more wrong. I don't know what doctor said that, but I'd have seconds thoughts about returning to them. Any lack of Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, or Sodium can lead to cramps.

Go to your doctor, ask him about this, and see what he says. They actually studied these things and know how the body works. I trust them more than anythingEagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

I've heard miraculous things about Deer Antler Spray, so I don't even know why we're having this Gatorade discussion when he could just use that.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Really? Because I've seen plenty of guys go through three quarters of football just fine and then all of a sudden go down with a cramp in the 4th.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Watson, you think I'm crazy, but you're acting like a Gatorade fanboy.
This is actual research with numbers to back up what I'm saying. It really only benefits extreme physical strain like a marathon, not just a simple football game

Re: Off Topic 2013
I know I don't play sports, but my weekly fluid intake is about like this..
70% water
20% alcohol
10% soda/tea
I lift 4 days a week and run a mile 2 of those days and I never cramp up.
I get a lot of the stuff you guys are so concerned about through my actual diet. My football coaches would have told me to shut the hell up if I asked for some gatorade after a long practice. If I wanted that, momma was gonna have to buy it.
Whatever works for you, though..Comment

Re: Off Topic 2013
I play two games and then ref three more on Tuesday and Thursday Night
3- The issue isn't DURING the activity, it's stocking up BEFORE it. That's another misconception right there. You drink water during the early parts of the game, then around halftime you need to start switching up to gatorade and replacing the stuff you do lose.

I'd put serious consideration into going back to your doctor. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU
