I think I've brought this up before and the opinions were mixed - but wearing a hat of a team you're not a fan of?

I tried last year and returned the hat. Couldn't do it, but I really want this Mariners hat. I was a huge Mariners fan growing up and Griffey Jr is my second favorite athlete of all time. This hat was also my favorite hat I ever owned. I think I bought a few different ones with my head size change or when they got old.

Weird thing is - I am a Rangers fan, so it would make it worse since same division.

Baseball is the only sport I could see myself wearing hats of other teams.

It all depends on how into baseball you are. I could probably wear any NBA team's hat and wouldn't feel weird at all because I'm not into the NBA or the Sixers.

Gonna stay in Tally for part of the summer to take a 6 week Spanish 1 class in addition to my online class for my program that lasts all summer. Part of me is ok with it cause its FSU during the summer, but the class will be 5 days a week for an hour

          Re: Off Topic 2013

I've asked myself the same thing.

Here's my run-down of how I feel. If you have a connection to the team, it's okay. For instance: I've always have been, and will be, a Brewers fan.

I've also lived in the middle of DC for a couple years about 5-6 blocks from the Nationals stadium - I did a lot of work with the team (be it for fundraisers, military promotions or anything else random) and got to go to plenty of games for free. I wasn't a fan of the team before I lived there, and I still support the Brewers before anyone else but I have no qualms about wearing a Nationals hat. Same goes for the Angels, having lived right by Anaheim for a couple years (though I didn't work with them. Just got to go to a lot of their games.)

The single-A team in Appleton (where I grew up and would spend every night possible at their games) was the Appleton Foxes (back then. Wisconsin Timber Rattlers now.) Before a couple years ago, they were with the Mariners. Now they're with the Brewers, but I grew up watching the Mariners closely as well. Met a lot of cool people through them. The players used to live with my friends (the biggest name that I used to hang out with in high school was Adam Jones, though he never played wiffleball with us like some of the others.) Through this, I have a pretty close connection to the Mariners as well.

I'd wear a Brew crew, Nats, Angels or Mariners hat any day of the week - just because each of those teams has meant something to me in my life. I might throw on an Orioles hat every now and again if I had one to support Jonesy, but any other team I wouldn't wear. Just wouldn't feel right.

Braves come first in the MLB, but I like seeing the Astros succeed. Or would like to see them succeed. Do I own any of their gear/hats? No, but I could be persuaded into doing it. I also have a little bit of a soft spot for the Rockies

Haha Barves. My friends and I still call Cole Hamels, Coles Hamel. Some drunk dude called him that back when we were 15 or 16 and it stuck. And Aaron Harang is "The Rang'er."

                Re: Off Topic 2013

After three rounds of bowling and several beers, I decided to go play some pool and shoot darts with everyone. I walk in the door at the bar and I'm waiting in line and this drunk chick comes and leans on my shoulder and says, "My friend got drunk and sick and I had to take her home. Now I have no one to party with". It had to be the most obvious thing I've ever heard in my life and me from a few years ago might have been like, "Well all right, let's party!".

I just kind of blew her off and moved on. Then about 30 minutes later I was standing at the bar itself waiting on a drink with a friend and she comes stumbling up beside him and gives him the same spill.

He's engaged with a kid and wasn't the least bit interested (this girl wasn't all world, but she was decent looking.) and she asks him to watch her drink and takes off running (or stumbling) and we stand there for a few minutes watching a fight on one of the TVs and the band playing and we walk away.

30 more minutes later she comes stumbling through the game area , with some random guy, while we were playing pool and she's like "there's the *******s who wouldn't watch my drink" and slips and cracks her head on the side of the pool table.. I did laugh a little bit. Anyways, she gets up and is apparently fine and then her and the guy she came up with walk out hand in hand.

Talk about a complete mess of a girl..

I wear hats and jerseys of other teams because after Toronto, I'm a fan of players. I've followed Halladay for over a decade. I see no reason why I can't wear a Phillies hat and his jersey even though I'm a Toronto fan. It really confuses the Phillies fans over here, as if I'm trying to make them feel better about 1993.

Besides, winter means holidays, my birthday, football, and food. The light of day can **** itself if that's the case. More than enough happiness to suffice.

WARREN, Ohio (AP) — A sport utility vehicle carrying eight teenagers crashed into a guardrail Sunday morning and flipped over into a swampy pond in northeast Ohio, killing five boys and a girl, the state highway patrol said.
The Honda Passport veered off the left side of a road and overturned just south of the city of Warren, about 60 miles east of Cleveland, Lt. Anne Ralston said. Investigators say it came to rest upside down in the swamp and sank with five of the victims trapped inside. A sixth who was thrown from the SUV during the crash was found under it when the vehicle was taken out of the water.
The two boys who survived, escaped from the submerged vehicle and ran to a nearby home to call 911, the highway patrol said.
Ralston didn't know where the teens were headed when the crash happened at about 7 a.m. She didn't have any information to release on possible causes or factors in the crash, but the highway patrol planned a news conference for Sunday night.
                        Damn shame.....

Normally I'd tell you to go for it, I own some Nationals gear and a Tigers shirt, but man... that's a division rival.

                                I'd advise against it.
