Every time someone gets engaged this topic comes up; bottom line I asked my wife's parent's if they had any objections to me asking for her hand in marriage before we got engaged, it just seemed like the respectful thing to do.

I'm probabaly going to hell for this, but I thought about creating a bracket for all the women I've been with, Problems are there is no way i could have a field of 64, I'm not there yet, So I'm just gonna start with a pool of 16.... (Yea right Damnyanks should just skip to the championship game between the two 20 seeds).

The other problem is I sure as hell haven't been with any 1 seeds, 2's are debatable. and there's more 16 seeds then I can count.

What's ironic is one of the 4 seeds hates seed.

So I'm gonna have a couple of 2 seeds, 1 three seed, 2 four seeds, three 5 seeds and eight 16 seeds.

I'll let yall know who wins.

In a shocker of shocker's but maybe not quite an upset, if you knew her as well as I did. The 5 seed went down (pun very much intended) to the 16 seed.

The 5 seed was actually pretty gorgeous, and had a great personality, but when it came down to crunch time, she was boring and uninteresting to watch.

You won't be as surprised to hear then, that she was from Wisconsin.

I'm not gonna bore you with the rest of the tournament, not that many upsets, or exciting finishes(pun also intended).

It would be the first 16 seed vs 2 seed ever.

The 2 seed was gorgeous, the personality was great. But she put up a defense like Michigan ST, and it was hard for me to score, so she got me feeling like Pittsburgh, blocking me away like she's Nerlens Noel, but eventually I got the shot I needed, and drained it, I figured out a way to literally penetrate the friend zone. And she finally went down. She was exciting to watch, and she delivered in crunch time, speaking of big buckets, Had me feeling like I won the championship game, that's all I'm saying.

The 16 seed- had all the above, and she loved her teamates, she even passed the ball to her girlfriends, She's Chris Paul in here, but she never flops. Let's just say she had a great assist to turnover rate, and she says I had a great inside game, I'm feeling like Mason Plumlee now.

So how the hell is she a 16 seed you ask? Well there's a very stable rumor going around she has herpes 1-15, and it's believeable because her conference, non conference, and international record's are high. But I've heard she got all W's, except from one guy, but he ended up being gay, but she went perfect throughout the rest of the season.

So who's it gonna be?

I didn't ask my fiance's parents permission. But I could see myself doing so if circumstances were different.

If I have a daughter, it won't bother me either way. It's her life. I understand it's kinda tradition or some form of respect but if it's a serious relationship, my blessing can be assumed.

If you've been dating for years and they've never shown or you've never heard they don't like you/aren't fond of you, you're probably good. If anything, to me, it looks bad if you ask for a blessing if it is a long-term relationship. It's as if you don't think you're good enough for her and have to make sure her parents are fine with you. Nothing like showing weakness to the in-laws guys!

It's crazy how much better the NHL is at social media than all of the other leagues. I guess when your league isn't paid attention to as much as the others, it's necessary to be good at fan interaction.

Meanwhile, MLB continues to soil itself in this regard.

I've lived in Florida for about 13-14 years now, I probably saw my first Jaguar fan yesterday.

I never saw it that way. The way I see it is that it's an opportunity for the future husband and father-in-law have a discussion. I know for me with my future father-in-law, when I asked for his blessing, we had a long talk about the man he wanted to make sure I became to marry his daughter, and conditionally rejected the permission at that time because I was still in college, and he wanted me to become a career man. When I got my first job, about halfway through my tenure there, I discussed it with him again, and he gave his blessing. IMO, it's not supposed to be "Yeah, I'm alright with it" or a "Screw you kid", it's supposed to be an opening of a channel of communication with a man that you are now related to by marriage. It's about respect for him and his whole family, and it's about becoming the best man you can for his daughter and your wife.

When I asked him for the first time, I think I'd been with my fiancee for maybe 4 years? The second time was at 6 years, IIRC.
