    Question time.

Do you think freshmen and sophmores should be allowed to go on prom ?

If asked by a junior or senior, I don't see what the problem is. They were allowed to both of my proms but apparently they stopped allowing them a year or two after I graduated.

We didn't even allow juniors at our prom (unless they were a date, of course.)

I was dating a girl a year younger than me for 5 years (like sophomore year of high school--->) so I went to two proms.

        Senior prom > senior/junior prom.

No. Most of my friends have teen aged kids, with a lot of them with 18 yr old kids. However some of the females I graduated high school with are now having a problem with their freshman and sophmore aged daughters going on prom.

Never mind the fact they themselves did it when we were younger and they didn't have a problem when their sons did it. But now when it comes to their daughters, they don't like the idea.

Because they know the stereotype of " prom night".

It's one of those double standards that society still holds dear.

I was kicked out of prom before it even started. My date was a little pissed about it at first, but we were not really involved at all and were just friends.

The after party was the best part.

I went to an all boys school so prom was a mixture of our seniors and the seniors of two other all girls schools. But if you had a date from outside of our 3 schools they had to be sophomores or a year out of HS. So like 15-18/19. But nobody brought sophomores, or they would have been clowned by their friends.

Same here. Took a freshman my junior, and a sophomore my senior year. I know a chick who took an 8th grader to prom our junior year.

That sucks. I had a close family member go through the same thing.
