We always take things for granted, and we might get caught up with life, but I just want you all to appreciate life, the good and the bad times. Tell all your loved ones you love them. Appreciate and enjoy life, you never know when you're gone. A HS classmate(now a college freshman) passed away a couple of days ago, giving me a warning that this could all be gone in a moment and made me reflect on things.

During my current inebriation this evening, I've decided that I will become a more active member of the OS community.

I mean, I practically live here, just never post anything at all. Most of you probably don't even know who I am.

So I'm sleeping on my one friend's couch and like 20 minutes ago I wake up and there's some random guy standing like 5 feet away from me...like mumbling and not saying words...told the guy to GTFO and he did but he keeps knocking on the door every few minutes. Looks like I'm not getting any more sleep tonight.

Just a warning: Never go to the Madden Forums. Or the NBA forums.

Actually, you're probably better off just staying in the Neighborhood.

I hardly click on most of the sections. I stick with the E&T and Neighborhood sections mainly, only venturing into other sections if there's a solid reason to. Most of them are filled with stupidity/know-it-alls/people just looking for confrontations to prove they're right. Not worth it.

Trust me, I know my way around these parts. You learn over the course of almost a decade. Haha. I don't venture into any of the game specific subsections anymore, not even the Show now.

I stick to the Wrestling, MMA, and the Other sub forum. Much safer here.

Most of the various sports video forums are tolerable if one uses the ignore list aggressively, IMO. In addition, I'd like to think at a baseline level that it's more possible to have a reasonable exchange of ideas about any of them now than it was, say, six months ago. Admittedly that could be because we're out-of-season at the moment.

All that said, as to avoiding them based on history and prior impressions, I don't blame anyone.

I like to argue/debate too much to use the ignore button. I only have one person on ignore. I'm also not mature enough to not reply to some people, so it's just easier for me to stay out.

I haven't seen one game forum (aside from even more niche titles like FM and OOTP threads) that has a tolerance level within human standards. That's not a fault of the mods at all, it's just a sign of the times of gaming today. The Show is probably the best of all the big game forums.

I also haven't ever used an ignore feature on any forums or in any game (save for MMOs to block the currency selling bots.). The whole concept is foreign to me, then again I'm cynical so that everyone I meet/read/interact with is stupid until proven competent.

Just like how I openly admit that there are very few posters at OS that I consider part of the community that don't post in either here in the neighborhood or the wrestling weekly threads. Same thing how I skip over 90% of non donators posts, even if they have something relevant to say. There's a handful of good non donators out there though, for sure so not every one gets ignored.

I feel like this has been talked about in this thread before.
