Generally I think sometimes JJ gets too much crap, but dear sweet lord I don't know how anybody can root for freaking Duke.

I'd sooner root for the Yankees. And I ****ing hate the Yankees with all of my heart.

I was a fan of UNC as a kid because I liked their colors

I did the same with Jacksonville. Now they're slowly eliminating the reason I liked them in the first place. Hmmph. I would insert a GIF here if I wasn't on my phone.

I root for Duke football which should automatically disqualify anybody from frontrunner consideration.

I would like this because cheering for Duke football is probably pretty miserable, but then again UVa has lost to Duke something like four of the past five years in a row and as such I'm embarrassed.

Though apparently we're the 8th best team ever according to this so yay? NINJA EDIT: UVa also won the first ever EA Sports NCAA Football Season Showdown, so double yay?

They have arguably the best college basketball coach who ever lived (who isn't a cheating, win-at-all-costs slimeball like certain coaches John Calipari cough), play in one of the best atmospheres in American sports, and the family atmosphere between past and present players is pretty cool and unique.
