I'd complain to the management about the dog barking all day. We had that issue in my building and someone complained and the problem was fixed.

As for the leash stuff, really nothing you can do. Management won't enforce it or the pet **** on the grass unless they see it happen. Some properties don't have to enforce pet rules, the owners police themselves. But others are awful with it. Anytime you see someone leave **** on the grass, say something to them. I saw someone have their labrador take a dump in front of the building on the grass and just start walking away. I said out loud where they could hear me "that's classy leaving that **** where everyone can smell it and see it". They heard me and I never saw them outside without a poop bag again. People will do the wrong thing over and over again if nobody says anything to them.

The property company actually sent all the tenants a letter around the beginning of the summer to serve as a notice that all pets should be leashed when outside and where the acceptable pet bathroom locations were. To help with enforcing the rules they asked the residents to send anonymous tips.

My big problem were my neighbors dogs being put out to **** since they would trip onto my side and do their business then return back to their patio. Luckily they moved out while I was on vacation.

The other problem is the other complex (single lane up a big-hill - two different complexes, one on each side). Every evening there are two fat bitches walking a black, long-haired retriever. No leash. Dog ****s in the yard and nothing is done.

But in about 12 days I won't have to worry about that stupid stuff anymore. It is so quiet and calm over at the house. When I was bringing stuff over on Saturday I just stood inside the door and looked and listened.

Was just reminded New Orleans changed the name of their basketball team to Pelicans. Still as funny now as the day it happened.

Most of my neighbors are OK, they're just the talkative types and I'm not a social person at all, I have to go to great lengths to avoid them just so I won't get drawn into conversation. Guy below me is the guy I can't stand because he's a noise pollutant. The music war guy. He's so disrespectful to the neighbors it's ridiculous.

Just today when I walked the dog, I'm walking out of the building and a guy comes up the steps from below about 10 feet in front of me and I slowed down as much as possible so I wouldn't be within conversation range. I don't have an issue with pleasantries, just say my "how's it going?" and smile, then move on. Couldn't dodge the guy though, after the neighborly acknowledgement, he says "your car get hit, man?"
"yeah a while ago" (continue walking away with dog)
"you were stopped?"
"yeah at a red light" (dog stopped at his favorite tree, I'm trapped now)
"they hit and run?"
"no they stuck around, just a hassle"
"ahh yeah"

Then by the grace of God he got in his car and drove away.

Been here over 2 years and that's about the most I've talked to anyone other than the maintenance guys. I have to dodge other people too since my dog is of the small/cute variety and everyone wants to pet him. I usually just say he's a biter and apologize. There's a good chance most people think I'm really rude.

Some dude that lives on my road had a dog that lays in a ditch that's also in a curve. Damn dog will jump out in front of a vehicle without thinking. Its been doing it for a long time and I'm surprised no one has hit it yet. I almost wrecked a motorcycle because of it one time.

I'm terrified of letting my dog outside without a leash, even at my Mom's house with a 4 acre yard and ditch separating yard from road, I don't trust him. He doesn't have the sense. Plus I remember the family dog when I was a kid, she'd run across the yard and use the driveway to cross the ditch to chase after joggers or cyclists.

Seriously though, Pelicans. They could've used:

*Magnolias - state flower
*Bald Cypress - State tree

I don't mind the Pelicans. There are plenty of weird team names when you hear them at first. Raptors, Jazz, Penguins, Thunder, Suns, Magic, Wild, the entire WNBA, etc. Eventually it just becomes normal.
