My roommate calls his mom and dad every single night. Not texting, actual calling them in our room and tells me to turn down the game when he could walk outside. He has little common sense or care for others, I hate it.
As for me, I either Skype(the text thing, not through video) or text them. I will call them every now and then, especially if I'm at my dorm for a longer period of time(I live two hours from my house, so I get to go home like once every three weeks.)NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers

I consider myself lucky my mom doesn't own a cell phone and has no desire to own one. My dad owns one but don't ever use it. So I just call the house phone. I talk to my mom more then my dad. My dad isn't the talkative type when it comes to talking to people younger then him.
My dad conversation always goes as follows:
1. Hey man
2. Everything good ?
3. Ok talk to your mama, I have stuff to do
Basically been that way my whole life.Comment

Only thing more awkward than getting an unrecognizable number call on your cellphone is getting a random FaceTime call. This same number had been requesting a FaceTime chat with me for the past week. I just can't bring myself to answer. Too creepy. This makes like the 6th call.Comment

Speaking of awkward calls, last month I kept being awakened around 9am by a doctor's office calling for someone named Greg (I think it was Greg, but point is, that's not me). Well, with my phone pobia I never answered but the nurse or receptionist would leave voicemail that there is an availability for him to come in. This seemed like something important to Greg. A normal person would probably just answer the phone and tell them they have the wrong number. I, on the other hand, used my favorite problem solving method of "it'll work itself out".
