I used to love this thread until people started posting pictures of mayo.

There's a reason it's not in the original post, public!

Mayo is a culinary staple! I love mayo, personally. And I think when added with a bit of mustard it becomes a sauce not to be outdone by even a classic french demi glace. An absolute masterpiece used for dipping anything in.
Mayo is the classic aioli. Eggs, oil, whipped together. It's so simple! Add rooster sauce and you have a classic sushi dipping sauce, add wocestershire and garlic and enjoy your whipped greatness with kebabs. A little tarragon and lemon juice and you have your own home bearnaise sauce!
What a wonderful masterpeice of the culinary arts. So versitile, so tasty. C.M.

I can see mixing mayo with something else to make a sauce, but using it by itself to dip fries in... too much for me.

I always sprinkle crushed red pepper on my fries at home and put just a little bit of ketchup on them. Too much ketchup destroys the flavor of almost anything. Some people use so much, I don't know why they don't just eat ketchup by itself.

I don't think there is a condiment I eat, aside from a1 once or twice a year.

That sounds like a sad existence to me LOL. But I am a sauce and condiments guy.

I admit, mayo is my least favorite, but add just a tiny bit on a sandwich and it can help it out.

While we are on the subject of mayo. Has anyone tried macaroni or potato salad made with sour cream instead of mayo? I made some for a New Years BBQ and everyone enjoyed it over the regular version.
